Poor Lupo. *Hands over some Jägermeister* Add that to your collection.

Seems like people here know pants and stuff, so I might get some help with a problem I'm having as a short, on the thinner side of average built, young man. I have these jeans I really like, but they are too wide at the bottom to fit inside my beloved Canadian Army Surplus boots; so I'm wondering if there are any jeans out there that would be available in black, tight in the lower leg area (which would be all hidden inside the boots), and comfortable for a guy to wear. Help, please?
Know anybody with a sewing machine?

Gedunnk to slim down pantslegs, think *unbellbottoms*, turn them inside out, start at the point of the hip and pin a gentle taper to the ankle, and sew. Iron flat or even zigzag the cut edges.

I know it's pretty standard at certain stages in your life. Don't know if they do it for every kid born, though. If the mom is a positive blood type, she doesn't have to get rhogam shots to keep her body from rejecting a baby that has a different blood type. If she has a negative blood type, she gets the shots in case the baby is a positive. A lot of stillborn deaths and incredibly premature births were likely the result of different blood types between mother and child. Ain't technology wonderful?

It's a pretty simple blood test, don't know how much it usually runs, though. I found out the first time I got pregnant that I was O-neg, my kiddo is O-pos, which means that, without some injections, I have a high risk of miscarriage on any subsequent pregnancies. Talking about the risks of me having another kid with my parents when I found out I was pregnant made my dad curious. He was due for another battery of tests so he asked if he could add that one and find out. Guess where I got the O-neg from.

Your doctor may have run a blood type test at some point so you can ask him or see if your parents have any records of one being run. If not, see if you can get it done. It's good information to have in an emergency.

Wait, they let you donate regularly? My grandfather is O-, and they used to have him on call instead. (He caught something at some point and stopped being allowed to donate anymore). I'm Rh +, so I wouldn't know for sure.

I didn't find out until after the first time I donated blood. They didn't tell me, but when I got my donor card in the mail it said.

This thread has reminded me that I should really check if I'm eligible to give blood again. I had to stop years ago due to meds I was taking at the time.

I'm taking different ones now so they may still say no... but won't know til I ask
              Arp happens!

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

Nope, that's AB+. You can only have type O, but a significant portion of the population is O+, so you're fine. It's only if you have O- that you're screwed.

going over my list, rewriting it so it’s organized by section of store, makes it easier for me. (Yes, I’m a bit OCD, your point??)
I do this. It's just easier to shop according to where stuff is in the store. I hate having to go back because I forgot something or didn't see it scribbled in the margins!

I hate pants shopping, too. I buy all my jeans at the thrift store. They're already broken in and if they fit when I try them on, they'll still fit after wearing for a while--no stretching.

I could use some regular pants for work but I'll probably have to buy them online, since the stores around here mostly carry trendy teen styles. I have a rule: If I wore the style the first time it came out, I'm too old to wear it when it comes around again!

B+ is type specific blood, and is vital when it's a necessary procedure calling for type specific. B+ is fairly rare in the US, though, but more predominant in central Asia, I think.

I'm 0-, the universal donor. Everyone wants my blood. Everyone.

Good news is there's about a 3/5 chance of type B finding someone they cna receive blood from if the need arises. Since O- can only accept blood from another O neg, I'm kinda screwed. Mine must be type specific 100% of the time. Lucky me.

i think only about 5% of the population is O-, with B+ coming in next at rarity in the US population. I think. No promises.
My mom is always saying she should give blood because she's a universal donor, too. I really should, too. My dad's B+, but he can't donate because he had hep A when he was a kid.

And you're right on the rarity of both blood types.

Heh, I picked up making a menu and then making a list off of that from my mom. But, just because it's on my list, doesn't mean it makes it in the cart. Not because the store doesn't have, but because I'm and idiot.

I do that on occasion, too. Actually, I go really OCD, make the menu, make the list from the menu, then organize the list according to section of the store. If I have enough time beforehand, I type it up, and label each section in bold. Sometimes it's color coded...

What...? So, I'm super organized and have a slight disorder? So what? don't judge me...

I am o-, and a universal donor. Because of my NASH I can't donate, however. Even though they claim there is about a .000001% chance to pass it on even with direct blood transfusion..more of a chance then I am willing to take.

                                Im AB neg.
