  • Get out of my face!!!

I went to a concert last night. Oh man, the crap that I witnessed!!! First, they pack you like sardines in the amphitheatre and people are just stupid when they're soo close together.

I was excited because my mom and her Husband came down (I don't see them very often) and my work let me off early to go see the concert. Anyway, I was sitting on those itty bitty bleachers (which do not compensate for my freaking J Lo Ass) and some people behind us had makeshift chairs. Imagen a lawn chair without the legs and placed ontop of the bleacher seats. There's already no room.

The things were heavy too--how do I know this? They dropped it on me. I'm already sore from a freaking car accident and they drop their chair on me. I let out a few nice choice of cuss words.... They didn't even say sorry or pick it up. Someone else picked it up off of my back.

Then the idiots had their knees so far foward that I was being straddled from behind. Like I could feel the guy's legs on my left and right side. Finally I guess the people behind them complianed long enough and they left. Everybody cheered.

Then this girl about 11 or 12 was running like a banshee and screaming and throwing her arms all around like she was at a mosh pit. It was a country concert. Calm down, stupid. The worst thing she did was grab her camera and get right up in the singer's FACE and took pictures. For like the first HOUR of the goddamn thing. And it was only an hour and a half show.

What's the point of spending fifty dollars a ticket to have a brat running around like she's on crack? No parents to be found. This was not a kid concert. Finally security made her back off. The singer was getting annoyed too cuz she kept walking away and dancing with the other band members. I mean, she was literally standing INFRONT OF THE STAGE and putting her phone or camera or whatever in the singer's face.

Security was smoking off to side and not doing shit about it. Later though she was begging to go on stage! Atleast they told her no. But WTF!? I was annoyed the whole time. Others were taping everything and also in her face. What is wrong with ppl!?

They're assholes when it involves thinking of anyone other than themselves.

I went to a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. It was The Moody Blues. Classic rock.

The group right in front of us were a 16-year-old birthday girl and her family, and Ms Sweet 16 was plastered. And they would. not. shut. up.

I hate with the fiery fury of a thousand suns going supernova anyone who talks during a concert. If it's not an emergency, then sit the down and shut the up. Well, there are some points where it's ok to stand, but, really, try to keep it to a minimum. There are people behind you who want to see the show, and not everybody can be on their feet for 2 hours. Show a little consideration.

Sorry... that's one of my huge pet peeves.

I'm guessing you guys don't go to many concerts. lol

Standing and being noisy at shows is pretty typical, in fact, most artists prefer an active crowd over one that is docile.

However, little kids running around is annoying. Unfortunately, security can do nothing if they aren't breaking any rules.

        Depends on the concert.

When we went to a concert that included Pinchas Zukerman at the Lensic in Santa Fe, I don't think they would have appreciated people jumping around and screaming.

Now, if it's say, Gaelic Storm, completely different.

It was actually my first concert. But its a very adult place. They were walking around serving alcohol and had several booths set up for that. I know you're supposed to have fun BUT there are limits. I don't think the singer should've been blocked by a phone/camera by a little girl. Another thing, it was CROWDED. Did the mom not think her little precious wouldn't get kidnapped? Nobody would've heard her scream.

I went to Peter Frampton (Sp?) once when I was in high school but this is my first concert as an adult. I was already annoyed that night for having to walk a mile in the heat and had just gotten off of work so that probably lowered my patience by more than half.

i'd have to agree; a concert isn't an appropriate place for a child. too many people acting wildly and too many opportunities for something bad to happen to them.

only one concert i've been to was remotely mild-journey back in 1987.
              look! it's ghengis khan!
Sorry, but while I can do many things, extracting heads from anuses isn't one of them. (so sayeth the irv)

I'd been to at least a dozen concerts before I hit my teens.

Hell, I paid for my own ticket to see The Wall when I was 9. That was actually my second Pink Floyd concert.

                  Hmm, let me think.

The very first two concerts I went to my parents took me. Rick Springfield (with Corey Hart opening) and Huey Lewis & the News (that's where we discovered that I'm allergic to pot ).

Since then....Duran Duran twice (mid 90's line-up and the reunion tour with all 5), Def Leppard, MC Hammer, Bon Jovi (with Skid Row opening), Paul Young, Crowded House, The Alarm, Maroon 5 (with John Mayer opening), Godsmack (got drug to that one by the ex), Gaelic Storm twice (easily the best concerts I've ever been to), and many, many classical music concerts.

Still mad that I didn't get to see Adam Lambert.

Charlie Daniels, Madonna, and that is about it. No interest in going alone.

Bah, the only concert cred I've got is Judas Priest/Motorhead/Heaven and Hell a couple of years ago, and Scorpions a couple months back. I'm putting money back to go see Atreyu on the 23rd of November, since that's my birthday and say what you will about the vocals, the instrumentals are awesome.

I've been to 2 Charlie Daniels concerts, and the 2nd was up in the back, so mostly everyone was sitting, though there were some folks who had been drinking who were kind enough to move to the very back and dance.

Up close (floor seats), I have no problem with folks up and dancing as it's a concert and it's suppose to be fun! But getting in the face of the people onstage? Oh hell no.

Every other concert/show I've been to have been standing room/general admission so it didn't matter, you were standing. (Flogging Molly x2 & Mindless Self Indulgence)

I saw Joan Jett in a Bar (the Liberty Lunch - now closed/torn down) when i was 11 yrs old - I paid for my ticket, I got let out of the Hospital a day early to go....

but then again, I live in the Live Music Capitol of the World, where its not uncommon to find a 6yr old in the bar at an all ages show - most of these venues are SRO

and I've seen Gaelic Storm 3 times!

also been to Kiss - with Skid Row opening and Ted Nugent, Foreigner(x2) - 2nd time they were the opening act for Def Leppard w/ Styx, i've been to OzzFest (2008 - free fest) , ZZ Top w/ the Pretenders and Stray Cats, Shania Twain, Godsmack/ Metallica, and this year I even saw Bret Micheals, and so many local's show's i can't even think of them all, plus a number of music Festivals the city holds

That kid was obnoxious, and it is ridiculous that no one did anything, parents or otherwise if necessary.

Heh, country shows are usually a bit calmer, but I saw a fight break out at a George Strait concert!

*sigh* I LOVE George Strait and Reba, have since I was a little kid, and they are touring TOGETHER, and I probably won't be able to go, although I am considering it, even if I have to go alone!
