I used to go to concerts all the time, up until about 2000. First non-classic music concert I went to was Humble Pie, in 1970. My first concert tee was 'the Beardsley album' cover tee, also bought at that concert. I would still have it if my parents house hadn't burned in 1985

I try to avoid state fair type places for concerts generally, bleachers are horribly uncomfortable and there is never enough leg room, I feel for you cause I always try and sit so my legs aren't touching the person in front of me, which is hard to do sometimes as I'm 6'1" and have REALLY long legs.

My first concert was Weird Al and that was at a theatre so we had assigned seating. Then I went to see Chicago at a winery (lady in front of us downed a couple bottles through out the show and was dancing all crazy, so annoying)
I've been to EndFest (107.7 the end) a couple times and saw Offspring, third eye blind and a bunch of others I can't remember now.... what I learned from that, watch out for the douche bags that wear steel toed boots and then ride the mosh pit, and have your elbows handy to elbow really hard in the neck the idiots that try and cop a feel. (or just avoid the mosh pit i guess)

went to a couple jingle bell bashes (by kiss fm) saw gwen stephanie, mandy moore, pink, third eye blind again, and a bunch of others. this was open floor, with not much space so it was basically one big mosh pit, unless you were old enough to sit in the beer garden.

deck the hall ball (107.7 again I think) in an arena, we got 'cheaper' seats so we had assigned seating. Saw Killers, snow patrol, modest mouse and a couple other local bands. Watching the mosh pit from up there we were VERY glad not to have general tickets, it was indoors and it was HOT and a couple fights broke out.

Then also I've seen a bunch of small shows in bars in seattle since my oldest brother is in a band. oddly enough the bars had the most well behaved people, with just one drunk gal falling over a table as she was dancing.
It's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care. -Office space

Last concert was Journey. We had great seats and security was on the ball in regards to the cheap seat folks trying to stand in the aisles up front (no shame in cheap seats, but I paid for the spot I'm in, and I'd like to not have the show blocked by someone who didn't).

And I will never go to HOB Anaheim again (or any HOB again, for that matter) after the one and only concert I went to there. Standing room only and full of obnoxious people.

Between the pushing between my husband and I to get closer to the stage (and we were standing thisclose to each other and holding hands), to the young thing moving her butt thisclose to my husband's groin and then giving him dirty looks when he didn't back up farther (he couldn't, and he wouldn't let me have the fun of going off on her just so I could see her freak), to the guy who kept trying to push himself into the space I was standing, while he was dancing and paying attention to the girl he was trying to pick up. When I had to dodge out of the way of his elbow to avoid a broken nose (thank goodness I happened to be looking in the right direction at the time) and my arm automatically cocked back and made a fist, I paused, turned to my husband, and said we need to leave. Now.

And I haven't been back. Even though there have been several performers I would have loved to have seen.

I've seen Celtic Thunder twice but I'm going to miss this year. Not comfortable leaving the infant with a sitter yet. I've seen Gaelic Storm 6 times now and I'm working at their show later this month. I've seen a ton of local bands but most of those are in bars, not theaters. I actually generally avoid theaters unless it's something I really want to see.

My first concert, I'm ashamed to admit, was Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine... I think I was about 6 or 7 at the time, but I loved the tape.

In my lifetime, I've been to a few hundred concerts as a spectator and worked probably close to if not more than a couple thousand. It's gotten to the point where they just all mash together these days. Past 4-5 years though has been slower though thanks to the economy. Still, I have a lovely collection of backstage passes.

Heh...Been to a total of 3 concerts my entire life. Christina Aguilera, Backstreet Boys, and, on the 3rd of September of this year, my first outing to a concert on my own was Adam Lambert. Sorry you didn't get to see him, Pagan, his show live is AMAAAAAZING! Of the three, the most fun was Adam's show. We were having a huge dance party, the entire audience, before the show, and between Allison Iraheta (opening act) and Adam's sets, and throughout it we sang and danced along with him. BSB was fun too, though I wasn't that close to them. I was within the first 3 rows at the Lambert concert! FUN! Anyway, back on topic--some concerts, it's cool to be up and active and having a good time, and some, not so much. Depends on the artist & venue!

ETA: The one downfall at the Adam Lambert concert was that we were all standing, packed like sardines, and there was an extra tall woman--easily 6 feet tall on her own, and wearing 5 or 6 inch heels-- to my right, who nearly elbowed me directly in the face until I was able to move forward. Other than that, great show and great night!

I'd like to see them. Didn't go to Celtic Woman, just couldn't justify the ticket price.

I can't believe I forgot about Wicked Tinkers, I think they're second only to Gaelic Storm. And Seven Nations and Enter the Haggis.

Ain't nothin' wrong with that! Hell, I was in college when I went to see MC Hammer, parachute pants and all.

Considering his audience, are you sure it was a woman and not a variation on the theme?
