Okay, so I have a love affair with WINCO, it has to be the best grocery store in the country. One thing that they do to keep prices low is that they do not accept credit cards. They have huge signs at the entrance that say "due to high credit card fees and in an effort to keep prices low, we do not accept credit cards. We will happily accept cash, check, debit card, and EBT card payments"
So, of course what happens yesterday when I was there?
Yup, guy in front of me in line argues with the cashier for a good four minutes about how they can have such terrible customer service with not accepting credit cards and why don't they post anything to let people know that they don't accept credit cards... blah blah blah.
Seriously people, WINCO is the cheapest grocery store in the state because they have cut every cost they can (no baggers, minimal floor staff, no credit cards), you are actually getting a lot for what you pay for. If you want a place that is going to kiss your ass and take your high fee credit card, then go to Smiths and pay at least 15% more.
Though a really funny prank that some IT guy pulled on the cashiers. One the card reader, the options for cash back are $30, $40, $101, $5348, other.
Oh, how I wish I had $5348 in my checking account, just so I could push that button and see what happens
