Earlier today, my grandmother and I were doing our grocery shopping. It went without incident, and we lined up to pay. We get up to the register when the cashier says: "I'm sorry, its 16 items or less". I'm like ..I had entered the line without looking at the big sign on top that said 1-16 items. I apologized and left the line.

Not really sucky. You didn't throw a fit. It was an honest mistake, you apologized, and you went to the proper line.

Had you stood there and argued about it, or said some SC comment, then that would have been sucky.
