I go to Walmart, Torrid, and surprisingly Hot Topic sometimes. Also around here in the fall, the local Hanes factory has a huge sale in their parking lot. I get so much stuff there - bras, panties, socks, and my favorite Just My Size shirts. Speaking of which I need to snag more of those this fall - I pretty much live in them because they're so comfy and are actually cute.

i too, am a hellaciously rubenesque girl and i have to curb my desire to toss these skinny stick twats around like so much kindling when they make stupid remarks like that. sorry honey, but when i was your age, i was smaller and STILL had curves about me, not that pre-pubescent boy body you're flaunting.

i hate trying to find thing that don't make me feel like i'm wearing a tent, or a tent that was meant for an old woman.

boobs, the bigger they get, the harder they are to harness...
      look! it's ghengis khan!
Sorry, but while I can do many things, extracting heads from anuses isn't one of them. (so sayeth the irv)

Lupo, have you looked at Hip and Curves? They have some gorgeous stuff, though I'm having a little trouble ranging in their sizes. I got a corset from them as a valentines day present for my BF, and lets just say I didn't get to wear it very long.

ArcticChicken, yes, that's eventually where I ended up getting...stuffs.

          >.>

Found it after some online research and yeah, having issues nailing the sizing, so I talked to a friend who knew more about that type of apparel than me, and she walked me through figuring out sizing and styles and fits. Keeping my fingers crossed that I got the right size, and we'll see if he likes it/I have the courage to wear it.

If you ever find yourself needing to explain to someone just how stupid this is, try the following analogy (perhaps in the vicinity of a certain store display):

"Shit, they're all Duracell. One's just the same as the other. it's the LETTERS that tell you how high quality the battery is"

why is it that all of the twigs (read malnourished looking size 0 and no boobs or butt AND dressed like a hooker) out there think their "brand" of body is the be all end all. the fact they have sooooo much outward attitude about it suggests they themselves have serious body/self-esteem issues.

sorry I want meat and bones not just bones.

I hear you with the limited selection at majority of the big-box retailers, BUT way back in the 1990's (before the internet and e-retailing got started) my Ex and I did find that some stores (non speciality) DID carry the larger sized pretty underthings. for anything more that just simple long gowns or short babydoll types (like stockings, pantyhose, corrsettes and panties) we did have to hit the plus size speciality shops (a bit pricey but worth it) but not that often.
I'm lost without a paddle and headed up SH*T creek.

I have actually considered making my own "pretties" because I can't find things that I like and think are cute. The boyfriend says it doesn't matter, he just wants to know what it looks like on the floor because that's where it will end up. I want them more for me though. I like feeling pretty under my jeans and tshirts.

Lupo, your guy sure seems to like you just as you are. Go for it. Wear what you ordered and feel damn pretty in it. The courage that it will take will only make you even more beautiful to your guy.

Short, Tall, Skinny, Big, Blond, Brunette, Red head, Rainbow colored hair..beauty is in the eye of the beholder (though the Beholder is one ugly critter ). It doesn't matter what everybody else thinks, it matters what you think. Finding somebody who thinks likewise is a plus however . The most wonderful thing in this world is that everybody is NOT identical (which would be BOOOOORRRRINNNGGGG). If you are happy with yourself, then tell the others to take a flying leap.

Because you ARE beautiful, and haters will be haters.

Note : I prefer somebody who won't blow away if a wind comes along, but I tend to see the beauty in everybody. Life is too short to only see the ugly..though some .. it is really really hard to find the beauty.

Agreed. My first time in pretty lingerie, I felt very self conscious, but a man who loves you will make you feel beautiful in them.
