  • I Hate Ensenda!

I've been an Amazon customer for over a decade. I love Amazon, we've used it forever. The last problem I remember having with them was several years back, when a video that I ordered was defective. Amazon sent a replacement, it all worked out perfectly, no hassle. I haven't had a problem since....until now.

I ordered several DVD sets with them since I had some cash flow due to my tax refund. (3 Law & Order DVD sets and 5 Law and Order: SVU DVD sets, some from Amazon, some from other providers) The ones from independent providers have been perfect. The ones from Amazon are not. If they're from UPS, USPS or FedEx, they all show up on time and in great condition. But if they're from some company called 'Ensenda' then they're late and unaccounted for.

I have never heard of Ensenda before, but from what I can gather, Amazon switched to them because they needed a cheaper delivery service. And cheaper is right. I've been going through internet reviews of the company on sites like 'Pissed Consumer' and EVERYONE has something bad to say about them, even the former employees. Apparently they're untrained, (more than one person has complained the delivery people didn't know how to use the scanner or had them sign on a grimy piece of folded paper) or show up in unmarked cars/vans.

My problem with them is that they say that my current package has been delivered twice, and should currently be in my possession. Which is most definitely is not. Plus, they said that some random person has signed for it. None of my neighbors have, the apartment office can't accept or hold packages, and we haven't gotten a notice saying that we missed a delivery.

Apparently people have been getting this kind of thing a lot from them. Where they'll say they made several failed deliveries since the customers weren't home, when apparently they've been waiting by the door the entire time and nobody's shown up. Several customers have said the company goes so far as to leave the packages on the street! Or in plain view where anybody could come and take them!

People who've called the company say the rallying cry from them is 'I don't care.' When Amazon is called, they are either given a replacement or a refund. Although heaven knows how the replacement will get there....

I really hope Amazon stops using this provider. If my package isn't there tomorrow, I will definitely be upset and will call the company. Amazon is in danger of losing my business unless they can guarantee Ensenda will not be used.

We order from Amazon a LOT. We're Prime customers, so we get the free 2 day shipping on anything that ships through Amazon. For the most part they've been pretty good, but we've had some mishaps that I've been pretty pissed about, especially considering how much we order (at least one order a week from them, a lot of times more.)

One incident especially sticks out in my mind. My husband and I had placed separate orders from Amazon and they both happened to ship on the same day, although via different carriers. His was coming UPS, mine Ensenda. His was supposedly delivered mid-afternoon; I don't remember hearing the doorbell ring, although I was home all day, but I might've been in the bathroom or something. Later in the evening, mine came via Ensenda. I got my package no prob. But his was nowhere to be found. We didn't realize it was missing till the next day when he tracked the order and it said it was delivered.

Amazon did shit to help us. They told us to call UPS and start a claim. UPS insisted the package had been delivered and tried to drop the issue. When we continued to hound them about it, they said the only thing they could do would be to put us on their "must sign for everything" list -- which would be a huge hassle for us, for a number of reasons, so we ended up dropping the issue entirely and re-ordering the missing item (which thankfully was only $30.)

I called Ensenda and asked if they remembered seeing a package or anything when they delivered my package, since the missing package was supposedly delivered a few hours before mine. They checked with the carrier and said she didn't remember seeing any package, and the rep I talked to insisted that the carrier was very good and wouldn't mess with a package if there was one on our doorstep while she was there.

I've always wondered, though, if she grabbed it...either thinking it needed to be shipping back for whatever reason, or to just pocket it since it was small and just sitting right there.

Sorry to hear you've had so much trouble with them.

I'd gone several years without ordering anything off of Amazon until recently, when I ordered a DS game that wasn't available at Gamestop or Best Buy, and when I bought my sister some DVDs for her birthday.

My game arrived without issue, ditto my sister's presents. I don't recall if they were sent via Ensenda, but I'll definitely keep this post in mind if I have to do any future ordering through them.

I only order certain books through them (ones I want asap. I can't get out of the house easily to shop, so I order my fav authors newest books, sometimes months in advance). And I haven't had any issues so far. Except, when I lived in Boston, I would get the book no more than 2 days after shipping and now in Indiana it takes about a week. For some reason, they ship them PAST my town up into Michigan, and then back down to my city.

I've only recently started using Amazon and both times, I didn't have any problems. My textbook that I needed for my photography class had to be ordered, since our bookstore didn't carry it in stock. I found one used for a pretty good price and ordered it the friday before our first class (which was monday). At first, I was freaking out because the only shipping they had was standard and that would take from 7-10 business days and I needed the book by the second day of class. (My fault for procrastinating so long to order it, but I also had to wait for my financial aid refund to drop for me to be able to afford it) Monday rolls around and I arrive home from the first day of classes and find the package there. It was sent via USPS and I found out that it had shipped from Ohio (same state). I laughed at that, since it probably came from someone who had taken that same class, because my photography prof. teaches both at our branch campus and the main campus and he is the only prof. that uses that specific textbook and ed. in the whole state (apparently he checked this); was very thankful though of it's quick delivery.
I ordered another book a week later (James Reese's "Book of Spirits" Good read for historical fantasy genres. Follows French Revolution, Post-American Revolution, with magic and some pretty racy sex scenes, though it's done beautifully, not porn like or anything at all). It took about a week and half for it to arrive via FedEx in great condition.
Had a problem with FedEx though later when I sent my laptop in for repair with Toshiba. Shipped there fine and everything within 2 days. When I got it back, it took almost 5 days for it to ship back and the box itself was very damaged. I almost freaked, thinking they had dropped the box or it got crushed (the packing in the box was just 2 foam pieces that slipped over the sides of the laptop, with the laptop in a plastic sleeve. That's it! no other foam, no foam peanuts, nothing!), but thankfully, the laptop was unscathed and works beautifully (after some much needed modifications ). Still don't know what happened to the box, but I'm tempted to put FRAGILE across the box next time I have to send it out (hopefully not).
Just because they serve you, doesn't mean they like you. And just because they smile and act polite doesn't mean they aren't planning to destroy you.

"I put the laughter in slaughter."

I've had to send my laptop back to Toshiba a couple times for warranty service. They pre-shipped me a box with a pre-cut foam insert that surrounded the machine on all six sides, and sent it back to me in the same box. This was around 2006-7. Do they not do this anymore?
