I chose to be a bit different...so I wave the Samsung flag now That is, I bought one of their laptops last year. So far, I haven't had problems with it. Of course, it's not my main computer either. That would be the 9-year-old Frankencomputer that's in my office. I originally built this beast..and then 'rebuilt' it with 'new' parts over the years. All of the 'new' stuff came from computers that had been retired at work. But, even it is starting to have issues now.

First computer I had, was a Dell 486/SX of some sort. It wasn't too bad, but I wasn't too fond of the (non-tower) case. To access the memory, all of the drives had to come out. Plus, if I wanted to add a second hard drive...that wasn't happening. There simply wasn't room. I had that for about 6 years, then bought a newer Compaq. Again, not bad...but I did find some of the 'proprietary' parts Compaq used to be a tad annoying. Nothing inside that computer was 'off the shelf.'

I have an Acer, and I love it. Works wonderfully, battery lasts a while for a laptop too. Mostly I just use it for basic web surfing and paper writing. At least I was. I need to replace the screen. someone stepped on it or the dog laid on it, so now it has black spots everywhere.

@tenzilkem Yeah, the technical support use to be amazing at Dell..but I don't think it is the techs fault now that it is not so stellar..think it is Corporate rules. Keep em jumping through hoops until the warrenty runs out, then charge em two legs an arm and a spleen.
Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. I her Black Dragon (though good honestly), dark as night..fierce and strong.
