Being Phone Stalked

This is why I keep a landline at home with voicemail on it. I turn off the ringer and check voicemail now and then. It's the perfect number to give a salesperson or someone you don't really want to have calling you.

Back in the days of dial-up when I lived with my mum, she let me have my own phone line installed in my room, with the understanding that she'd get final approval of the placement & that I had to pay all costs.

I left my pc plugged in permanently, & I didn't even own a phone to plug into it. If any of my family needed to give a number that they didn't want to be called on, they'd give my computer line's number. It's amazing how few cold calls we got after that
