This is my dad's story. My dad is engaged to a bicoastal lady and so he flies between Atlanta and Long Beach, CA pretty regularly. Last night we picked him up at Hartsfield and he told us this story.
He called a taxi to take him to the airport at 500am. The road in front of the house is 4 lane with a median in between. He saw the taxi pull up on the other side of the median from him. My dad had a suitcase a garment bag and a laptop bag. He yelled but the guy waited about 30 seconds and left. So he called the co. who said "oh he said you weren't there." He explained what happened and they said they would send the cabbie back. He said the guy did the exact same thing. So he tried calling again and got someone who put him on hold, and then disconnected him. Then he got a text message? from the company telling him that now their driver had come to the address he gave twice and he wasn't there. At this point he was livid but he called back and got a supervisor who said the cabbie would come immediately.
So...again...same deal, car on the other side of the road. He finally ran across the median and told the guy he was on the wrong side and they had to go back for his luggage. He assumes the guy will make a u turn. Instead, he drove about 6 blocks before taking him back with my dad yelling at him and then dropped him by his luggage and left. Only my dads laptop bag- with his passport- is now gone
