I wouldn't be surprised if at least some of his problem was that (that and being a dick, but giving some credit). We get a lot of rural transplants in this area, we are two miles from two hospitals, so we'll get the older rural type moving in when they finally realize their health won't allow them to stay out in the sticks and are forced to move into the city.

I have lived next to assholes of all ethnicities, and I have also lived next to wonderful people of all ethnicities. The worst of the assholes were the ones who took the attitude that I owed them everything because I'm white (not true, but not obvious) and they are not - and that my ancestors (again, not true) did their ancestors wrong so I have to make it up to them. (Yeah, racist descendants of former slaves.)

Really, there are good and bad people of all races, why can't people open their eyes and see it? (And congratulations on keeping one of the worst type from moving in. At least, I hope you were successful!)

reminds me of a story my mom tells about when she was in college and her roommate tried to pull the "you should let me borrow your car to make up for your grandparents owning my grandparents as slaves" as slaves stunts.
Her response, very calmly, "I didn't realize they had slaves in the Scottish highlands as recently as a hundred years ago"

That guy really had it coming to him...of course, it's doubtful he felt badly about anything he'd said. I do hope you've prevented someone like that from moving in, though. Sorry for the people trying to sell their condo but hopefully they'd be glad on some level that they didn't sell to him.

I agree with you on most levels; I just hope they don't have too much trouble selling their condo soon to someone a lot higher up the food chain.
