Not to be alliterative or anything, but now you know why Bob boycotts Best Buy.

We have three or four of them within 30 miles of here. My female friends usually ask me to go with them when they want to go to Best Buy--not only because they know I know my stuff, but they also know that I can back off douchebag salespeople like the one in the OP and have done so in the past. This must be a BB epidemic because I see it happening nearly every time I'm dragged kicking and screaming into one of their stores.

Regarding cameras, some of them are more than $1000 and don't even include a lens. Suppose Kisa would have wanted to buy a camera like that. The BB douche could've potentially cost the store a $2000 sale easily (camera body, camera lens, a bag, an SD card, an extended warranty...it can add up fast).

Stories like this are what make me more prone to invite anyone who wants to go to BB over to the house to do some online shopping (Newegg, Tiger Direct, etc.). You can get better deals that way anyway.

It's weird I've been the 'beard' when females who know ten times more then I do go to the mechanics...because you know..a guy always know more then girls about vehicles...

I generally avoid BB because of their prices, but one of my coworkers said he'd take me there to get an mp3 player for when I go to the gym and also to get a memory card for a camera I'm getting for free (but the card isn't included). He's pretty tech savvy and said he doesn't want any of the guys there to be douches towards me because I don't know a lot about that stuff.

Pink? Not really my thing, unless it's skulls and crossbones on a pink background.

Try being a huge football fan and being a girl. Uggg just the other month we had sports day at work where we could wear our fav sports team shirt or jersey. All the girls come to me so that I coud bring in stuff for them.

It took 3-4 yrs to break into the boys club. They never wanted to take me serious. they thought all I knew was what my husband taught me.......hell I teach him.

i got pissed when I went to buy a new jersey and the sales guy was like hey honey the pink ones are over there.

Like these? I think we have found something to put up against the pink camo.

several years ago when I found the digital camera I wanted, the only color the store (and I had checked several) had left was "Rose" (read a silvery shade of PINK). I did get ribbed for that one.

Both of those links have snazzy stuff that I just might like if I could get a combo of both.

Oh, man. Too bad there is no way I'd be able to get that in time for my birthday.

Heh... unsure if they meant it to be condescending or not but I heard a GIANT boom at the range event last night and had to ask the shooter what caliber he was using because it sounded awesome - and much louder than my 357. The two men started "explaining" how big it was. I chose to not be offended because ... it could have just been two men enjoying showing off the gun and many people DO like instructing new shooters. And well to be honest I don't know how popular revolvers are with other women, cos I've heard both.

Oh and it was a S&W 500, which shoots .500mm - aka "50 cal". and yes it looks fucking sweet. And yah, big fucking boom. One of the salesmen suggested I was a "recoil junkie" (but not in a bad way of course).

Though, on the other hand, I do get men telling me they LIKE seeing female shooters - especially ones with revolvers.

A few years back I had saved to REALLY spoil the BF for christmas. I wanted to buy him a gaming keyboard and mouse, wireless headset, mp3 player (the only thing he asked was NO apple products) and a years subscription to the MMO he was playing. I went to "luture chop" an electronics store in canada and started looking around.

I was standing by the mp3 player display unit and a sales guy walked over to help me and I told him I was looking for a present and the only thing it couldn't be was an apple product. He flipped out at me saying that other products were USELESS and TERRIBLE and the ONLY thing he would recommend was an ipod. He literally refused to tell me about any other product and was fairly nasty about it. I told him I would have to think about it and walked over to the keyboard/ mouse section of the store.

After about 10 minutes another sales guy approached me and asked if I could had any questions, I asked him if he was an "apple product freak" or if he would help me find what I needed. He laughed and told me he would try to match the product I needed regardless of brand.

I brought $600 worth of stuff from him. The other sales guy seeing me at the checkout got all pissy that the sale wasn't going through under his name.

I rarely have a bad experiance in retail (because I treat retail staff like decent human beings) but years later I still remember that guy YELLING at me for not buying apple.
