  • Being thin is "shameful"???

So I was at the pool wearing my blue and black bikini. It's a string bikini with ties on each side of the bottom, one across the back, and one that goes around the neck. The top is a neon-ish blue and the bottom is jet black. It's not exactly a conservitive bikini, but I don't believe it looks slutty either. Looks, more or less, like this.

So, I was walking over to my chair to dry off a bit and work on my tan when 2, erm....heavyset women walked by (slowly). Their convorsation went, more or less, like this:

Lady1: Can you believe some people?
Lady2: I know! Whatever happened to common sense and decency?!
L1: Tits hangin' out, ass cheeks showing, belly flab jigglin'...
L2: *nods* No one wants to see that.
L1: She should be wearing a one piece... I bet she did that to try and show us up.
L2: For sure! You know how malicious those thin people are...trying to make us look bad.
    L1: NOT her color...
L2: Totally... It's so similar to your style too. She has no curves. Everyone knows only "curvy" women can wear bikinis.
    L1: It so sh.....

I'm not 100% sure....but I think they were talking about me L1's swimsuit was the same style as mine and had a similar blue color and L2 was glancing at me every few words... Though, I don't think I have too much jiggly flab, my boobs were covered, and my butt is on the big side, so it was hanging out a bit

I decided to post this because I think it's rude to talk about someone who's right there, within ear-shot. They kinda made me feel bad

1 - Your bikini was fine. Seriously, it's a normal bikini.
2 - They're insanely jealous of you for having a normal figure. It doesn't sound like you're a stick (good, sticks aren't attractive), and you aren't overweight. They really wish they did have your figure, and our speaking out of jealous spite. Ignore them.

In another topic, Kisa showed a picture of what she looked like and she's beautiful!

Wow, nothing wrong with you, it was all those two 'women.'

Sigh, wish I could wear something like that. I'm big and I cover-up until the last second I get into the water!

There is nothing shameful with being whatever size you are. Okay, for the most part. (There are people in the world who choose to take no care for their health, and not through having other priorities.)

Everyone has a natural shape and a natural weight that their body will, if you eat and exercise in a healthy way, try to achieve. Whatever that natural point is, is the peak of your body's beauty. Well, IMO. Some people's opinions do vary on that.

I'm proud of my body's current condition. It's not it's natural point, but it's bloody close considering how long I had undiagnosed PCOS for, and how long I had undiagnosed fibromyalgia for. And it's moving towards its natural point, so .. go me!

Whenever you started/start taking care of your health, the state of your body then is your starting point. As you progress towards your set point, be proud of it. It's as good as it can be, given what you started with!

              2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
              3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
              4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

Pay no attention to those 2, they're just jealous of you. If they didn't like the way you looked they could've left.

I think Kisa should post some pics so that we can make an objective determination of her "shameful" bikini,I'm sure me & the other men here will be glad to give our entirely unbiased opinions

There is an epidemic of people who seem to think that making unnecessary comments about someone's weight, if that person happens to be thin, is ok. It is not. It is just as bad as telling someone to lose weight or calling them fat. I am a recovering bullemic and anorexic. I am thin, not underweight and I fight hard to stay that way. Part of my illness is that I am often uncomfortable eating in front of people. I can do so in front of friends and family but I don't like doing it at work. For some reason a group of women at my job felt it was ok to constantly call Mr skinny, scrawny, talk about how they used to be as thin as me and they looked terrible, call me obsessive, ect. When I got pregnant, they said they hoped my baby didn't starve. When I finally complained to HR, they said it was ok because I was thin. Apparently only overweight people are allowed to have feelings about their bodies. You have every right to be upset and I hope hurting you was worth it to them, but it didn't do a thing towards making them better people regardless of their size.

Only thing "shameful" in the OP's experience there were the two hags trying to inflate themselves (or rather, their egos) further.

If something like that ever happens again, talk to your state's labor board. That HR person needs their education updated.

To be honest, I get sick and tired of heavy or even average sized people just bigger than me talking about how I have it so good and it's easy for me to stay thin because I don't eat.

1st off I have high metabolism. Always have my entire life. I can't help it because theirs is slow. I have just as much trouble putting on weight as they do losing. Instead I'm made to feel bad so they can feel better.

2nd if I didn't eat I wouldn't be alive. I eat small portions throughout the day. I don't eat gigantic breakfast, lunch and dinners. I might not eat breakfast but I will eat a decent lunch and dinner. Funny thing is there's "new" diets out there that talk about eating in small portions throughout the day and/or skipping breakfast. Basically something I've been doing my whole life but apparently I don't eat. These dietitians make like it's some new innovation which it totally isn't. All it is is eating in moderation.
