WTF?
Is this the American medical system? Here in Oz when you are pregnant you are bulk billed for all neo natal appointments and you can get an appointment pretty much that week. I am just shocked about what your fiance has to go thru just to get a doctors appointment!
As for morning sickness, being that your fiance works in a pharmcay she should be able to get some really good advice from the pharmacist and a discount on the stuff she will need. Vitamin b6 is fantastic for morning sickness, so are ginger tablet that are generally merchandised for travel sickness. My personaly experience is that Gatorade has a fair amount of sugar in it which if she is dehydrated she should stay away from suggary drink altogether. Does she stock an electrolyte replacement product at work? Here we call it Gastrolyte/repalyte/hydralyte but that is the better one to use. Also if you can get it in an icy pole form its much better cause it will make her sip/slurp it and not introduce too much to her already sick tummy. Also those pressure point wrist bands are good for morning sickness too. If she does suffer further along in her pregnancy once past the first trimester she can use Maxolon (metoclopramide hydrochloride). It is available over the counter here but it is fantastic for morning sickness and hangovers!
