Interesting fact? The only animal that has killed a human in Yosemite Valley is a deer.

Someone had their 4 year old to go pet a deer. Something startled the deer. Deer have very sharp hooves.

Deer also tend to cause the most injuries in Yosemite. Because nobody thinks they're dangerous. Idiots.

And squirrels are the leading cause of needing rabies shots.

The deadliest animal in North America is the white-tailed deer, due to the approximately 1.6 million collisions every year.

There's an old video,I've looked for it but can't find it,of a tourist at Yellowstone who keeps tryin' to get close to a buffalo for a pic.Buffalo apparently decides "I've had just about enough of you asshole" & throws said tourist 10 feet in the air

Is this the video in question?

Listening to what she says before the charge, they all get extra idiot points.

I must know, WHERE did this happen? Was it at one of the parks, or at one of the resorts? Details, please! PM me if you have to, I want to know so I can share with my fellow Mouse people! This is EPIC!
Considering I heard this from a friend who heard it from the person in question... this friend works Photopass in the water parks usually, but recently he moved to the Kingdom for the parties.

I think it might have been at the Kingdom.

The problem is, at the World of Mouse, some people think that all the animals are animatronic. I guess it's a case of being a victim of their own success.
Unfortunately this is the case with most tourists. You'd think they could tell the difference between a crocodile/alligator made of rubber and motors and an actual LIVING one, but you'd be surprised. I saw a live deer grazing near the big "Welcome!" sign for one of the parks, but when I pointed it out to my mother she goes, "That's animatronic!"

            It wasn't.

Reminds me of when I was in Yosemite and one of the guides told me he gets ask several times per year "What time does the deer show start?".

i can understand mistaking a sleeping gator for a fake one, thats possible, what i can't understand is not believing the employee when he tells them otherwise.

                Why would he lie?

There have been a couple of incidents here in the UK, in the past week or so, of people getting attacked for going too close to stags. It's the rutting season, and it doesn't seem to have occurred to some people that these animals are feeling mean just now.

Since it was at Disney, it could be that the guest thought that the cast member (Disneyspeak for "employee") was just saying it for the "show". In other words, that the cast member wanted the guest to believe that it was real even though it wasn't.

Here's the thing, they didn't mistake it for a fake one, they mistook it for a tame one. Because it was on Mouse property.

Yes, because all Disney park animals go through rigorous training before they're allowed in their pens. That's why there's a good 20 foot gap between the animal enclosures and the tourist areas. Derp.

                          Howdy fellow Floridian!!

Maybe the photographer should have taken the picture....but it wouldn't be a portrait, it'd be called evidence by that point.

                          Child abuse/neglect/stupidity with a child?

I know stupidity isn't illegal, but a girl can dream.

One big thing to remember is that there are actual wild animals there too. This gator was one of them.

I mean, it's not like they were at Animal Kingdom and got off the safari ride.

(Though when I went on, the Giraffe came almost close enough to pet last time)

If the gator sighting was in Old West Land, he's known to management. Recently they found him in the bathroom curled up around a toilet. Rumor has it it was a night of binge drinking with smuggled alcohol...

Today they had to evacuate Tom Sawyer Island because of him also.

Okay, so calling my friend to see if he worked today...

Old West Land is in Kingdom right, not Epcot?
