  • Well I can tell "Mr. North" is back

I think for the last month "Mr. North" (the man living in the apartment just on the north edge of ours) has been gone.

At one point I even wondered if he was just away for a while or if Mr. & Mrs. North broke up.

I wondered this mainly because... she had started singing. At first it was just once in a while, then within a week it was daily. Last week she even sang on the weekend ... so I could finally show my boyfriend what I've had to listen to...

She can't sing. I was tempted to record it just to upload it to youtube just to show how bad it was. She's so off key it's almost painful to listen to. When my boyfriend finally heard her that weekend even he was saying, "O god that's BAD."

But I noticed something too... She never sang before. Not when Mr. North was there. Not even when she was home and he was off at work.

So I was not surprised to see him today... why? Because she hasn't been singing since last weekend.

considering that in my last post about him I noted that he yells at her sometimes (he hasn't since he got back thankfully) I wonder if... if having him around stifles the part of her that wants to sing out

Hopefully yelling is all he does... >_>

Which is more tuneful, the singing or the yelling?

I think singing for her is like Momma Bunny singing... She can't hold key at all but she can let out the song she has to make her feel happy.

that really sums up what i was thinking about Mrs. North.

As for Mr. North's yelling... he struck us as a bit overbearing at times. Like how he would complain to the landlady about how other people park, yet he himself couldn't park straight.

And I swear he sounded smug when I saw him and he pointed out that someone else hat hit my car... because I'd hit his wife's car a few months ago. (but did the right thing and told him and gave him my insurance info).

I think he was trying to go for a "you're a bad driver" hint but... it's hard for me to hit other people on the side of my car. i think someone hit my door while opening theirs. (and my boyfriend had suspected him actually)

The sad thing is, her singing actually may be an improvement over some of these pop singers.
Maybe she'll find some cheesy reality show that'll make her rich!

Singing is my life-saver, too. Good mood or bad mood, it lets me express myself in a way that doesn't offend others.

Unless you start singing "the Hedgehog song"

Music is my salvation and singing along helps even more...I hope Mrs. North is someday free to sing as much as she wants. (Maybe some kind soul will buy her singing lessons too, so she can sing at home and delight her neighbors instead of freaking them out )

It's funny, one reason my husband realized that my new medication was helping me (the last one was either causing or worsening my depression) is that I've started to sing around him. It sounds like a little thing, but I hadn't sung where he could hear it for a couple of years, and I'm a voice major that's supposed to be practicing a couple hours a day! When I'm in a good mood, you can't -stop- me from singing.
It's little things that make the difference between 'enjoyable', 'tolerable', and 'gimme a spoon, I'm digging an escape tunnel'.
