There's a reason I listen to "alternative" Christmas music. Think "Jingle Bombs".

    Quoth Andara Bledin View Post
A few of the stores I visit near me have had Christmas stuff up for weeks already. Three weeks ago Target had a back wall of Christmas stuff over near their Halloween stuff. Not sure about Walmart. And Home Depot has had Christmas stuff out for a couple of weeks. Last week the Target had half of the Halloween aisles stripped and Christmas stuff was starting to be moved into it's place.

Although, there is a lot of "Christmas" decoration that has nothing to do with Christmas and is more fall/winter decoration.

    ^-.-^
The Wally World by me has some. Lowe's has had their trees out on display for several weeks now.

Frankly, the craft stores are the only places I can think of that have a justified reason for having the Christmas stuff out four months early.

I'm actively denying the existance of Christmas songs and displays till the day after Thanksgiving.

I love me some christmas songs (Except when its the same version, over and over.) and decorations and egg nog and such, but only for about a month, and I'd like to burn out on it AFTER Christmas is over, thank you.

We just bought some egg nog from [Favorite Local Dairy], which just recently started putting it this past week. As Hubs said, "I know it's not the season yet, but I don't care!" (Their egg nog is very good!)

Everyones Favourite Overpriced Department Stores have already gotten their christmas "stores" up into full swing. Yes, they have entire sections devoted purely to Christmas "stores". >_<

Not only did my store have the Christmas decorations up two weeks before Halloween, SCs are already going around turning on every singing/dancing decoration at once. I almost had someone take a picture of me in my Halloween costume next to the plywood cutout of the store mascot dressed up in a Santa Claus outfit. But, not having pockets in my costume, I hadn't brought my phone to work.

Ugh, I hate this! I want to take each season as it comes, and enjoy the holidays one at a time, thank you very much! I know the store do this so they can make as much money as possible over the holidays, but what's the radio station's excuse?

QFT. I've always thought the same.

I went to Walgreens late in the evening on Nov. 1 and they had one side of the widest aisle already done up with Christmas stuff (the other side was half full of clearance Halloween items) and yes, they were playing Christmas/winter music. I wasn't surprised, but yeah, I could wait a while. I partially forgave them because the first song I heard was Sleigh Ride, which is my favorite winter song. I have three categories: Christmas songs that are religious, Christmas songs that are secular, and all purpose winter songs.

Oh, and Mannheim Steamroller is the bomb. I guess if someone wants to play Christmas music now they can play MS and I won't complain.

I actually saw them live here in town a few years ago. Sadly, Chip Davis wasn't able to be there...there was a video from him before the show, I think he'd just had surgery or something. They were awesome nonetheless.

I prefer Trans-Siberian Orchestra, but MS is also an excellent choice.

One of my favorite holiday album/shows is "Striking 12" by GrooveLily.

Valerie has done tours with the TSO as concertmistress: rehearse the local musicians for the show.
