In regards to those Dr Pepper commercials, I just wanna yell at that army guy in the Jeep, "Shut up and get on with the ass kicking already, that's what this girl came to see!..Oh, and while we're at it, I'd tell you where to put those romantic comedies that you think I'm into, but that would be unladylike (snork)!"

I would prepare the drool buckets for The Avengers next May.

There will a lot of eye candy in that movie.
And I know I'll be seeing it because my husband is into all those comic book superheroes

Are you kidding? I've seen the trailers . . . I've had to swap out my bucket a couple of times already.

    Hey, I resemble that remark.

I've actually told people similar before . . . including the porn, which I slyly refer to as "fanfic research."
Did they just blink at you or did they stare slack jawed? Most of the people I've made similar comments to were on the phone with me. Cue awkward silence or sputtering. :P

I am biologically female and did something slightly like that once: When someone asked me what I do on the internet when I got my connection with that specific company, I struggle with at the moment, I replied: "Oh, the usual, webbrowsing, chatting, pornography." The poor clerk looked like

Oh, yes. My mum has already booked me for the first mid-week showing. But then again, our official family Xmas film became Die Hard as soon as my sister & I were old enough to watch it...

Though I don't like Dr. Pepper that commercial pisses me off.
I'm with Elspeth on Thor (*DAMN*) and my bf thinking I'm just about the perfect woman.

Just mentioning, but I've been told that a 1080p resolution is only relevant if you want to watch BluRay movies in HD. If you have an average DVD player, a 720p TV will do just as fine.
Aye. If your set is under 50ish inches, it's unlikely that anyone who isn't a hardcore videophile will notice any real difference anyway.

It's this "women don't like action movies" theme that has me boycotting Dr. Pepper products until they stop running that insulting "action movie" commercial for their new diet soda. Stupid sexist BS.
If it makes you feel any better, I'm a guy and I have issue with the ads, as wonderfully absurd as they are >_< Part of me wants to say that they're tongue-in-cheek, but another part of me says "They're idiots for releasing these to the public" x.x If they just took out the gender commentary, they'd be fine -- as-is, I would swear they were some of the fake ads from "Tropic Thunder".

Glad I am not the only one that hates that commercial.

I hate it when sales people do that. Also an action movie girl. Give me cute boy to look at (drool on Thor) and a lot of things blowing up and I am a happy girl. Hubby thinks he married the perfect woman.

and a side note if you don't find what you want now for a TV wait until the Superbowl, really good deals can be had then. We got our tv then and got a blu-ray player thrown in for free.

I recently got HD and though I don't watch a lot of TV, 1080p makes Skyrim, an already beautiful game in SD look absolutely gorgeous!

As far as I know Mrs. IA doesn't look at porn on the Internet. However, she does like looking at web sites about all kinds of surgery, including cosmetic, tattoos, various kinds of body modifications, and stuff like that. I find some of those much more gross than the porn sites.

I'd have been tempted to say, "I'm looking at the hi-def big-screens because I want an optimum viewing experience when I watch porn. I like when I can see the fleas on the farm animals."
You bastard. My laptop really didn't need another bath today....
