There's no shame in using the pad for what it was original created. They did start out life as heavy bandaging during one of the world wars and as the females of the military discovered, helped make life easier all around.

My outdoors first aid kit includes not only the standard fare, but at least two pads and three bandanas. The standard fare wasn't meant to really deal with heavy bleeding and bandanas make great slings, hankies, sweat bands and even tie pads on

I've got light/mild psoriasis. It sometimes itches, but I usually just use the OTC stuff for it. My ankle is my bad bleedy spot, because the way the skin stretches, but it's s small spot so a larger band-aid works fine.
If I make no sense, I apologize. I'm constantly interrupted by an actual toddler.

Not embarrassed by Preparation H. I use it for those awful HUGE pimples that form under the skin, prior to surfacing, they make a huge red bump...well, Prep H takes care of that pretty well.
I will definitely have to get some, then. I am 43 and every once in a while I STILL get those huge cystic pimples on my face. Embarrassing AND painful....

Yeah, it's no cure or anything, but damn if it doesn't take the red and the pain out of them
