My wife told this last night after her experience at Boston Market. For some reason, the snowbirds from New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, etc.....you know, the ones who have buttloads of money, but are cheap about everything. These people frequent the nearby Boston Market, and I'm not sure why. It could be because it's in the same shopping center as Beall's, another place these people frequent and cause trouble.
She witnessed this altercation while picking up food for the family:
SC: (You know who)
BME: (Boston Market Employee)
SBMM: (Spineless Boston Market Manager)
SC: I can't be served that! You just tahhhhched my food!"
BME: Maam, I didn't touch it with my hands. I'm wearing gloves.
SC: But, you tahhhhched it! I can't eat food that you tahhhhched!"
BME: We wash our hands frequently, and again, I'm wearing gloves.
SC: You tahhhhched it! I can't eat it because you tahhhhched it!
SBMM: (who has now stepped in) Maam, is there a problem here?
SC: Yes! She tahhhhched it. I can't eat that food because she tahhhhched it! (Pointing a boney finger at BME)
SBMM: But, she didn't touch it with her bare hands. She's wearing gloves, as are all the employees here.
SC: But she tahhhhched it! That food is not something I can eat because she tahhhhched it!
SBMM: Well, I'm sorry, but again, she is wearing plastic gloves, as is everyone else here.
SC: But she tahhhhched it! I can't eat that because she tahhhhched it!
SBMM: All right, would things be better if we just gave you this meal with out a charge?
SC: (Suddenly her face lights up with smugness) Yes, that would be just fine. Thanks!
And she took her meal with her! All of a sudden, this meal was no longer contaminated after the one employee tahhhhched it because it was now free. I simply cannot imagine thinking of this ploy to get a free meal, but I would say she does this all the time.
Oh, and most of the cars in the parking lot were expensive late model Cadillacs, which means she probably owned one of them. My wife said this lady looked to be from seventy-five to eighty years old, wearing probably $500 worth of clothes, not counting the expensive jewelry she was wearing.
Next time I go out to eat, I'll make sure someone tahhhhches my food so I can get it for free.
