  • Looks like someone's going to be asking Santa for some new tires...

This one could go in "Sightings" or "Roadkill." I chose to put it here. If it's in the wrong place, I can move it.

Our houseguest witnessed this one. He decided to get himself a laptop, and when he was making his way across the parking lot, he saw a guy in a van cut off another guy in a car, missing him by inches. The guy in the car was furious, and honked at him and flipped him off.

My friend went inside to pick out his laptop, completely forgetting all about what he had seen in the parking lot. When he got back out to the parking lot, he saw the van that had cut off the guy in the car, but it seemed kind of lopsided. Upon closer inspection, someone -- probably the guy he cut off -- had slashed both the tires on the one side.

Lots of Christmas cheer in the air these days.

While part of me appreciates the instant karma, I'm thinking the guy in the car is equally sucky.

Tires are expensive. That's a big price to pay when no damage too place, just a close shave and a scare.

I agree with you, Panacea, but I also see what MadMike was saying. People go totally nuts at Christmas. Its the time of giving and loving, not the time to slash tires because you got cut off in a parking lot.

Yeah that was the point I was trying to make. I can understand getting bent out of shape because someone cut me off and almost hit me. I would have definitely honked the horn. Maybe even flipped him off. But that's as far as I would have taken it. And I don't know if the guy who cut him off made an honest mistake, or he was driving like an asshole.

The guy who retaliated should really hope that no cameras caught him doing what he did.

          yeah...

that kind of revenge is just... childish. i hope the driver's insurance can cover the damage.

i mean someone cuts me off... i grumble but ... meh.

I doubt the guy's insurance will cover it. Most deductables are at least $500 up to $1000. Now granted, I don't have the coolest tires around, but two tires are still way below the deductable.

Hope cameras catch a good photo of the dude and his license plate. What he did isn't petty, it's criminal.

Wow, I had something similar happen to me. Lady cut in front of my badly that I was forced to go off the road on the freeway. I honked at her the entire time she was doing it, but she still chose to push me off the road. I hated her for two hours after. I saw red, caught up with her, honked at her, flipped her off, and called her some names. I was being petty. Would I have slashed her tires? No, that is some next level shit.

              Also,
I chose to put it here. If it's in the wrong place, I can move it.

I remember two or three years ago when I was still working for PCWorld a woman tried to run down another who was pushing a pushchair. Turns out the one with the pushchair had "taken" the last Nintendo Wii and "ruined christmas", so the woman who was Wii-less decided to wait outside in her car and try and run her over!

That car park was lethal, someone clipped the side of my car while I was at work and then just drove off. I was livid, ready to put a tyre iron through their windscreen, until I saw the CCTV. Unfortunately it wasn't good enough to get a numberplate however it did show them ripping their boy-racer bumper off (and having to put it on the back seat), after that I didn't feel too bad as there was hardly any damage on my knackered, already dented old Volvo.

I loved that car - ex-police (854 T5R) so fast enough to beat Civic Type Rs and Golf GTIs off the line but so tough you could have crashed through a house and kept on going. A pity it was so thirsty.

I remember 5 years ago just before Halloween my sister got her first car and one of the bitches that picked on her acused her of trying to steal her boyfriend, so the morning after Hell night she woke up to find all 4 tires slashed. Since they lived on the same street as us at the time my father had a talk with hers and agreed to pay for new tires.
