  • Weirdness at the bus Stop

Was reminded about this from reading the title of someones 'Are you married' thread. Me and my sister were waiting at the bus stop so that we could go to my bank and I could gave her the monies that she coveted. A guy went up to her while I was reading a book and apparently asked her if she was married. She said no and came over to me, telling me about him as said male came over and sat on the bench. He asked if we were cousins as I explained we are sisters. He then proceeded to ask if I was married, commenting that he needed a new one as his wife had recently died. I told him that I was in a commented relationship where he instantly assumed I had a boyfriend. I just smiled aqwardly as I didn't know this older males view on same sex relationships and didn't feel like tempting faith and getting chewed on for not matching his beliefs (What ever they may have been, he seemed he might have been East Indian but living in North America is doesn't really mean jack on what their religion might be).

It was funny however when he asked if I was going to marry my 'Boyfriend' and I said that someday, Yes. He nodded saying how good that was though continued to be creepy when he got on the bus and until we switched to a bus he wasn't taking. When I went to meet up with my girlfriend I told her that she is now my boyfriend and I plan on marrying her (She knew about the marrying part as we've talked about it before). She was confused at first but laughed a bit when I explained. The best thing about it that makes me chuckle now. My 'boyfriend' is slowly becoming less tomboy-ish and more girly I love my girlfriend but would prefer If I didn't attract people to talk to me on the bus or near a stop. Luckily so far they've all been relatiely harmless

headphones are your friend, even if you don't attach them to anything, just stuff the end of the cord in a pocket, bonus if the person is persistant-pull out the "not attached to anything" cord and fiddle with your "invisible mp3 player" while muttering to yourself or singing....has always worked for me...as has knitting, no one wants to bother the creepy girl with 18 inch pieces of pointy wood.....(learned how with a Klutz book, I knit a lot of scarves)
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

My Head phones, They do nothing O.O I still get people talking to me with my headphones... Unless I start cheerfully sing J-Pop or any other random song on my MP3 player out loud xD

Sadly all the people on my mom's side of the family (mainly the females) have a curse of attracting talkers when near or on buses ^^' My Girlfriend hates it lol

If I could figure out how to lend you some, I would lend you my ability to project a "F*** off" aura, LOL. I almost never have people talk to me on public transport, which is fine by me. I don't mind a bit of chitchat on, say, a city bus, but on a train, during a five-hour run (to my hometown to visit Mom) I actually prefer to doze off as soon as possible and snooze throughout the trip.

Many, many years ago, I was waiting to cross a downtown street when a guy asked me (apropos of nothing), "Are you a boy or a girl?" I had short-ish hair and wasn't dressed 'girly' but I'm pretty sure I wasn't that androgynous. Don't remember what I answered but I know what I should've said, "Which one do you want?"

Although that might've opened a whole new can of worms.

Honestly, I think the only reason my headphones work (90% of the time) is cause I listen to metal. And I tend to give off a 'don't fuck with me vibe (live in the ghetto long enough and it's required).
