Was reminded about this from reading the title of someones 'Are you married' thread. Me and my sister were waiting at the bus stop so that we could go to my bank and I could gave her the monies that she coveted. A guy went up to her while I was reading a book and apparently asked her if she was married. She said no and came over to me, telling me about him as said male came over and sat on the bench. He asked if we were cousins as I explained we are sisters. He then proceeded to ask if I was married, commenting that he needed a new one as his wife had recently died. I told him that I was in a commented relationship where he instantly assumed I had a boyfriend. I just smiled aqwardly as I didn't know this older males view on same sex relationships and didn't feel like tempting faith and getting chewed on for not matching his beliefs (What ever they may have been, he seemed he might have been East Indian but living in North America is doesn't really mean jack on what their religion might be).
It was funny however when he asked if I was going to marry my 'Boyfriend' and I said that someday, Yes. He nodded saying how good that was though continued to be creepy when he got on the bus and until we switched to a bus he wasn't taking. When I went to meet up with my girlfriend I told her that she is now my boyfriend and I plan on marrying her (She knew about the marrying part as we've talked about it before). She was confused at first but laughed a bit when I explained. The best thing about it that makes me chuckle now. My 'boyfriend' is slowly becoming less tomboy-ish and more girly
I love my girlfriend but would prefer If I didn't attract people to talk to me on the bus or near a stop. Luckily so far they've all been relatiely harmless
