There is nothing wrong with making an honest living from a physical job. Not everybody can be an office worker; someone's got to do the day-to-day stuff to keep things running. That does not make that person a lesser being.

Our hotel makes millions a year profit and in June and July we make 600,000 just those two months alone. And its because of us housekeepers turning room over so fast. But you know we're scum and lowlives.

I hate stuck-up folks who believe any "menial" job (which they apparently define as anything in retail, food service, or cleaning/maintenance) is beneath them and only for people who "don't do good in school." And then they compound the insult by being condescending/rude/antagonizing/etc.

I know it's often said that it should be compulsory that everyone should work in retail/food service/<insert "menial" job> for at least one year (or during the holiday season) to give them a greater appreciation for what the wage slaves do.

But the cynic in me just points out that there are actually Sucktomers out there who HAVE worked those jobs and justify their behavior with the mindset of "I got shit on while I did the job, now it's my turn to shit on you." Which only perpetuates the cycle.

Sigh. I hate people.
