lol. I admit, I laughed hard. I could only imagine the panic your friends and family must have felt when the called and got the police.

Thankfully, it was only for a very short time, and most people weren't in the habit of calling us (we'd just gotten back to the states after almost a decade overseas, and international calls were really bad back then). So it was only a friend or two, I shudder to think what would have happened it it'd been my mother, she'd probably have thrown stuff in the car and made my Dad drive several hundred miles to check on us

Maybe it was karma finally getting back to me for those times (only two or three times, honest) in high school when we got bored, and several of us girls would call a random single number, asking for "Larry". Then a guy friend would call the same number, saying "This is Larry, any calls for me?".

My number has already been called once by a debt collector looking for somebody else. Fortunately I told them I wasn't who they were looking for and they never called again.

I guess my number must be close to the numbers of some no-goodniks or being handed out as a fake. I dunno. Next time I upgrade my phone I may have it changed.

Since my cell number was changed from a number that was kind of repetitive I haven't had nearly as many calls where someone has given it out as a fake. So my suggestion is to ask for a number that isn't rhythmic or repetitive.
