I don't know how many you have to eat in order to actually get poisoned, but iirc "bitter almond" is what it's suppose to taste like.
but the cure apparently is ... ginger beer (consumed and worn), walnuts (for the protein), anchovies (for the salt - but not pure salt cos that's too salty), and a kiss from a friend (for the shock value)

When I was visiting Darwin, NT, Australia, I went on a biking tour of waterfalls. I don't quite know where we went but we had to cross some sort of border where they checked every vehicle for illegal food items.
One guy had an apple but... it was wrapped so they let it pass.

It's only what they're carrying. One of the cases here involved someone bringing a packet of salami slices over from another country, but they couldn't take it in. So instead, they got out their crackers and cheese and had a little snack right in the airport.
