  • "You Ruined Winter For My Kids!" [Language]

So, we here at CS are notorious for ruining Christmas (first and foremost), birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, whatever.

How about the local weather guy is now responsible for "ruining" winter for some dumb cunt and her kids?

    Yes.

The local news has a FB page. They made a status update with this week's glorious warm up forecast, with a "Who is excited for some warmer weather?" added to it, and one stupid cow.......just blew my mind.

    She wrote something like this:

"Honestly, winter has been ruined for me and my family. My kids never got a chance this winter to see what it's like to have multiple huge snow falls and make snowmen and learn how to snowmobile!"

As if her kids are somehow NEVER going to see winter again. Because, this is Wisconsin, it never snows or gets cold here, right? I mean, what's winter here, right?

And, dumb woman, EVERY school district was closed last Wednesday because of a HUGE SNOWSTORM that the northern part of the state got. Unless your dumb ass is from further south where they got mostly rain, I don't see what you're bellyaching about. We haven't gotten much for snow this year, but that's a damn blessing! Did you really want there to be another 22 inch December blizzard with daily 1 inch snowfalls in January, along with -20 to -40 windchills that entire month as well?

The only complaints I take legitimately about the lack of snow are those whose livelihood (companies, self-employment) is based on winter/snow.

Everyone else, so what, go visit where there's snow if it's that important.

Up here, we've already seen people riding their bikes for weeks now, lol.

Right, because the meterologist is now responsible for the El Nino and La Nina weather patterns. Someone needs to get a new perspective.

Me: Okay..so I think I get why Zoro wears a bandana
      DDD: Cuz it's cool

So, by using the Doctor's reasoning, bow ties, fezzes and bandanas are cool.

You mean winter doesn't come more than once a lifetime?

sure ... i hated winter too this year. i felt like i'd been robbed of snow. but she's sounding like she's blaming the messenger over it

I don't blame the weathermen or meteorologists for the weather we get.

I blame them when they get their predictions WRONG and then don't own up to it.

(Bob @#$%ing Ryan, I'm looking in YOUR direction.)

Especially when they make some remark about how "meteorology's not an exact science," which, to me, means they're "not exactly" a scientist.

I've noticed that, in many cases, fortune-tellers can do a better job of predicting the weather than meteorologists can. Just an observation.

A classic scene from ROCKY & BULLWINKLE when Congress, trying to figure out what to do with Captain Peter Peachfuzz, gets a brainstorm. "Where can we put a man who's always wrong? Where else, THE WEATHER BUREAU!"

Bob Ryan is probably the worst, but Doug Hill's not much better. And the less said about Topper Shutt the better...

It's global warming. I think she needs to reduce her carbon footprint.

See, I have no problems with Doug Hill or Topper Shutt. They may get it wrong, but they don't have that aura of smugness that Bob @#$%ing Ryan does that makes me want to punch him in the face.

The problem with complaining about good weather is Karma listens. That woman and her kids will get buried in snow very soon.

Many years ago a hurricane was headed toward the Panama City, Florida, area on the Gulf coast. The weatherman advised people to get out and stay away. When the hurricane arrived, it was a tired out little storm and caused hardly any disruption at all. All the businesses in the area complained because the weatherman had needlessly chased all the tourists away. A year or two later a hurricane came through and destroyed half of the beach hotels in the area, and much other damage. The moral is, "Don't complain about mild weather."
"I don't have to be petty. The Universe does that for me."

Geez, what planet has that lady lived on all her life? Some winters have lots of snow, some have little or none. Some springs are very wet, some not so much. Some summers have horrible droughts, some have rainstorms. Just look at the record temps (both high & low) for any given month in any given area, and see a huge difference.
If you want snow, and mother nature doesn't oblige locally, take a vacation to a ski area.
Bet she rants & raves when it rains on her picnic, too.

I know exactly when this will happen.

It will happen very shortly after the crew comes to put up the shed and the greenhouse for the swamp's outdoor garden center.

Those get put up and we always get a sizeable snowfall right after. Never fails. Then we get to go try to remove snow from the roofs so they don't go caving in.
