  • Kentucky Fried Fish

I haven't encountered a sucky customer in a couple of weeks. I don't like it. It means they are going to return to my life soon with a vengeance. All I have is a story a friend of mine told me. He works at the famous chicken restaurant.

We had a very nice weekend in my area of the UK. I was very grateful not to be working, as I knew the weather would drive all the public out for the day. My friend wasn't so lucky. He got absolutely swamped with a line all the way to the door. People were waiting around half an hour in line, simply because chicken isn't exactly something you can rush. It takes a while to cook.

A lady gets to the front of the line.

SC: I would like fish and chips please.
F: I'm sorry, but we don't have any fish and chips.
SC: You mean to tell me that I have waited in line for nearly half an hour and you don't have any left???
F: It's not that we don't have any left, it's that we don't have it on our menu.
SC: This is a seaside town! It would be insane not to stock fish! That's just a form of business suicide!

The line out to the door should have been an indication that they weren't really in any danger of going out of business.

F: Ma'am, this is Kentucky Fried Chicken, we don't stock fish.
SC: Then what do you sell??
    F: Chicken.
SC: Well d'uh! I thought you would have at least have some sort of alternative for people who don't like chicken!
F: Well we don't have fish.
SC: When will you be getting it in stock?
    F: Never.
SC: You know what, I am never eating here again! And I'm going to tell everyone I know to do the same!

She stormed out. The whole line was lauging at her.

Maybe she was hoping for Kentucky Fried Chicken-Of-The-Sea.

They won't look at the menu, or even the sign outside the door. When I worked at Arby's, several times there was some schmuck who ordered a hamburger and threw a conniption fit when we informed him that we don't serve hamburgers, we serve roast beef sandwiches. RTFM, idiot!

I just cannot comprehend living such a willfully oblivious life. You gain nothing and lose any respect you might have had when you choose to be stupid.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

For a very short time, KFC did do a fish snacker. Wasn't very popular from what the local franchise owner said. My husband adored it, but he wasn't sucky about it when they stopped serving it.
If I make no sense, I apologize. I'm constantly interrupted by an actual toddler.

I'd suggest going to Long John Silver's, then- the taste of the batter there is much the same as the herbs and spices for the chicken at KFC, in my experience.

But don't worry! She's never going to eat there again!

And she'll tell all her friends not to go to KFC for fish! God, I'd love to see how that goes...

Wait, I live in a seaside town. Does that mean I can go to my local KFC and order fish there? >.<
Eh, one day I'll have something useful here. Until then, have a cookie or two.

Who on earth other than this idiot would go to KFC if they don't like chicken? Or for fish for that matter? Does she go to Burger King and ask for pork chops also?
