I'm looking forward to my first D*C visit this year. I hope to see some of you there!

Dear Dragonlord, I want to go to D*C. Severely. being able to start going on a yearly basis is one of my goals.

Okay, this is perhaps one of the saddest things that I heard of at ANY convention.

D*C attracts professional costumers as well as models and some extremely beautiful women who simply have a love for geeky things (and guys). The final day of con I overheard a drop dead by all that's holy she is INCREDIBLE looking woman in tears explaining to her friend that every time she got close to a guy, they'd talk sci-fi, she'd start bragging about her WOW levels, they'd talk shop. and then she'd go "I like you...want to go back to my room and have some fun?". EVERY single one would stammer, turn red, and run for the hills.
I left the area about the time she was wailing "I just wanted to get LAID!!"
Apparently a common occurance for these women. They have a LOT of brains and geek tendancies, but they hang around meatheads most of the time for their work (Usually modeling) and just want to hook up with someone who has a bit of brains

If this ever happened to me, I know I'd probably have a similar reaction due to brain BSOD as stated before. Tho I'd like to think I'd just stop to pinch myself o make sure I wasn't dreaming before accepting

I might have spotted you and missed you. I was at that con. AB's really the only one I can go to, stopped going to ConnectiCon years ago.

I'll say hi to a baby if they're awake, and if they start smiling and hold out their arms at me, I'll ask the parents if it's okay to hold them. But geez, it's not someone's pet or something, you can't just waltz up and touch 'em.

Thankfully most people at the con had the sense to ask first. I was generally okay with it (if she was awake) if they asked first and didn't look overly grimy and germy.

If you're at the con next year (and I manage to swing an Alley table again), you should totally stop by and say hi.

Sadly I won't be at next year's con, that's a story for the Bragging Post. Probably the following year I will be, I haven't quite decided who I'd cosplay as yet. I hate missing AB, it's one of my favorites and the last few years I've gone people have been amazing nice and it's always so much fun.
