  • When I asked you three months ago...

So this is a sighting of my husband being an SC.

Three months ago I dealt with wedding stuff for a wedding coming up in May... now a weeks time.

At the time I checked out and found that it was a three hour drive from our house to the ceremony hotel. We'd then have to check in to our hotel in the break between day and evening stuff. Fine.

However I know my husband. Hes a bear to get out of bed in the morning at the weekends. So I pointed out the drive to him and asked whether we should book for two nights so we drive up the night before and we are already there in the morning. He says no, that will be fine.

So this evening what does he say... "oh, its a three hour drive, shall we book a hotel?". So I start looking at prices. The hotel we are staying at the night of the wedding is now twice the price. I look around and tell him of a suitable alternative but he doesn't want to know.

Then of course when I snarl when my computer dies losing game progress possibly due to being on minimise for so long (a game I can't save mid-level) he says "Its not my fault...".

Anyone want a well used husband? At this rate I might pay you to take him away...
I am so SO glad I was not present for this. There would have been an unpleasant duct tape incident. - Joi

    Yes, I'd take a husband.

No thanks, got one of my own that can irritate the hell out of me enough as it is, LOL. Why is it that even the most considerate and sweet of men can be so damned irritating at times, especially in matters of planning ahead? I can ask mine about something that I feel will need a lot of advance planning to make sure it works out right, his general attitude is "it'll all work out, don't worry about it" - then when the time comes and it doesn't all work itself out, he can't see why I'm upset it wasn't settled ages ago like I wanted to. Men, can't live with them, can't shoot them.

My apologies to the exceptions out there, there must be some......

I have one of my own. Ask his opinion on something and it "whatever you want to do"

At that point I throw something at his head.

I having that discussion with him right now. It will end with him getting smacked.

No, thank you. Have had two now, not sure I'll ever want another.

I'll take him; my garden could use some more fertilizer...I mean, er, I have a spare rabbit pen he could live in. Yeah.

How is he with housework? I was thinking about getting a housebitch, but I'm not sure if its worth the hassle.

If he can do auto work I'd swap. I'm STILL waiting for my husband to break down the transfer case so I can order parts. If I go ahead an do it myself, I'm sure to hear how I did it wrong. I don't mind riding my bike, but when I have to wait for the bibby to take her nap to do so...plus it's hard to job hunt with both vehicles down

He's brilliant at ignoring housework until he can look at me annoyed it hasn't been done. (And he caused me to stop doing his Ironing years ago by complaining about the 'not even visible' level creases and reironing stuff - even jumpers/jeans - so I stopped doing it - no point it being done twice!).

Hes ok with Auto stuff but its probably quicker and easier to get a pro to do it - thats always what I think after its over anyway.

I forgot to say in the OP that after not being interested when I did come up with the alternatives about 10 minutes later he was bugging me for the information and interrupting me during the stuff I'd moved on to. He did eventually book the alternative I'd pointed out in the first place.

I'm glad I'm not alone in wondering if men are more trouble than they are worth!

Oh, I'm keeping Rugz, he's too awesome and besides that...he's not quite old enough to trade in for a younger model yet.
I just want a housebitch because I'd get more things done in the garden and have the energy to blog about it, since my friends keep asking me to.

Can I borrow him for a little while? I have some light bulbs that need to be changed and I can't reach them even on the mini-stepladder.

I'm kinda jealous. I still want a housebitch but I want it to be someone who can be useful and NOT just lay around on the couch all the time.
