Update: I called and found out that the person I was told to see had retired. Urk! But the new lady talked me into coming in. I was there for at least 2 hours. The combination of my size (women's 12 wide) and their lack of stock made my getting a woman's shoe impossible. I settled for a pair of men's New Balance in an 11 2E. The new girl checked out the shoes I came in with and said I was wearing the wrong size. The pain-in-the-ass sales woman had talked me into a 12 medium and it was no wonder my feet hurt.
I was told to please write a letter to the owner and complain about the other saleswoman. Apparently a lot of people have been insulted by her. So I did write a letter and I asked for a pair of shoes in the correct size. Last night I got a call that I can come down and get the right size shoe. Yippee!
Thanks for all the advice. I'm glad I listened.
