Hope this is the right place for this. I get the feeling that this person has done this sort of thing before.
Sometimes I say things without checking on Facebook and they usually are ignored/overlooked/understood anyway. But this... friend of mine lost her router last night because of a storm, she thinks it was a power surge. Then she checks their PS3, because it was attached, and for some reason it won't power on either, so she posted on Facebook about it. I mentioned that she might want to call tech support and see if they could help since she wasn't under warranty. Last time we had a problem outside of warranty, the tech guys helped us out with a refurbished console (our XBOX died). But I accidentally said Microsoft tech support, not Sony, because that is what I was thinking about.
And some dingbat comes back and tells her to buy a used console at GameStop, then switch it out and return it. I tell them this is theft, and it is not cool. Dingbat comes back with the brilliant retort of:
"It might be theft, but Microsoft can't help her with a SONY playstation 3."
Whatever, dude.
(The PS3 is working now, it seems that her husband had been messing with it and the wires weren't in right, so no biggie.)
