  • Hey! That's my salad!

At least that's what I wanted to shout at this lady. She was older, and I think a touch on the dottering side, but still... Don't touch my food!

Walked into the blissfully cool Panera after a few long hours in the sun, looking forward to a Strawberry Poppyseed & Chicken salad now that they're back in season. Ahead of me in line was he Older Lady and her Daughter. D ordered, paid and left to fill her drink. As OL was getting the entireenu read to her by the cashier, another stepped up to take my order. After paying I went for some delicious iced tea (I love livin in the South) and right about that time I saw OL step up to my now complete salad, speak to the worker and take my food away. At first I figured she may have ordered the same salad until a Greek salad was put up as well. There was no one else ordering or waitin for food.

The nice Panera girl realized what happened and made me a fresh salad, and right around he time it was done OL came back sans salad to complain that she was given the wrong salad. The worker pointed out the Greek salad and said "I asked if you ordered the Poppyseed salad and you said yes. You took this lady's order."
OL looked at me, I smiled and took my strawberry delicious was and went to so as far away from D and OL as I could. She can keep the salad, I have a fresh one. Nom!

Why are there so many people who don't listen to what the order is, then complain they got the wrong one?

Seems to me it's easier to do what you can to make sure you get the right thing in the first place, than to get it corrected later. But then again, SCs seem to take more pleasure in having something to complain about than in having things go smooth.

    Madness takes it's toll....
    Please have exact change ready.

When I started in the cafe, we served breakfast: omelets, hash browns, and the like. The mall walkers (all over 50, probably, some quite old) could not actually remember what they ordered. I'd call out the orders and no one would respond. It drove me crazy. I am so glad all they ever order is coffee now, and that we don't have breakfast anymore.
"Is it hot in here to you? It's very warm, isn't it?"--Nero, probably

Sometimes people aren't used to that form of delivery ... as an example, I offer up mom on one of her few visits to the high-end coffee shop with the circular green logo with the lady. The barista put a cup on the counter and mom picked it up and carried it to the table (there was nobody else waiting at the counter at the time). She took a sip and made a cat-butt face. "This ... doesn't taste right," she said. I looked at it and realized it wasn't what she'd ordered! We got the mistake corrected but ... it didn't make mom a fan of said coffee shop, LOL.

It could be food theft. A lady ahead of us in the queue of the small John Lewis coffee shop in Soton's West Quay took the teapot from our semi-created order and sauntered off with it. The cashier told us she wasn't allowed to ask to check recipts and made us a fresh pot.
"...Muhuh? *blink-blink* >_O *roll over* ZZZzzz......"

I've had this four times this week so far - three on the same day. The local coffee shop at the station literally only has a small door lintel for a counter and I'd put my half empty cup on it for a few seconds (which a lot of people do) each time and someone who'd only just ordered their drink and should have realised it hadn't yet been made picks it up and I had to say "umm, thats mine". None of them apparently could work out it was half empty either!

Normally I don't have this problem but this week was just full of fail.

Some people are just oblivious. I work next to a Panera, so that's my usual stop going from job 1 to job 2. I am always amazed at how many people can't remember what they ordred, or their own name! THankfully, they know me by now, and I'm usually right there, so they don't even bother calling my name, but simply hand it over, but I've to move fast to keep someone else from snatching it a couple of times. And the kicker? Mine is to go, and there's was not. HEllo?

My mom and I went to Lancaster during Eastern Weekend. She wasn't feeling adverturous, so we had dinner at Fuddruckers. They called out her name and as I was going to pick up her dinner, some other lady grabbed it (the lady ordered a buffalo burger, my mom a regular burger). So I looked at the order person and he realized that someone took my mom's order. Not five minutes later, the woman went up and complained that her burger wasn't a buffalo burger and they used cheddar. Apparently she had the same name as my mother but didn't bother to check the order.....

She complained during the whole meal....I think my mom was about ready to slap her.

Aggh.. That reminds me of one of my coworkers years ago. I was at the time Caffiene free so brought in a bottle of caffiene free coke and put it in the fridge. There was never any soft drinks in the fridge, only milk for hot drinks, so you knew if anything else was in there it wasn't company stuff but someones personal.

One guy went into the fridge, used some, and then spent the next two hours complaining about how bad it tasted. Including getting another glass worth! I think both me and my boss turned round at the same time saying "well why did you get another glass then?".

I didn't really mind someone having some but moaning about it constantly...
