  • It's all the restaurant's fault!

Other MOD told me how a guest was boycotting the Golden Arches. I asked why, and heard this gem.

The guest said that he was in the drive-thru, and that Golden Arches called the police on him, and when he left the drive-thru he was arrested for DUI and driving with a suspended license, and it cost him $500 to get out of jail, and how it's all the Golden Arches' fault and he's never eating there again! Of course, it's entirely their fault, not his for driving drunk (and likely also being a drunk idiot to the cashier, thus prompting them to call the authorities).

I only wish I knew which location this occurred at...so I could write them a thank-you.

It sucks that this guy still doesn't seem to have a clue, though...

GOOD for them for calling the cops on a obviously drunk driver.

Suck? No. I find it entertaining. If not for idiots like him, this board wouldn't exist.
I'd love to watch this guy flail away uselessly at those who 'got him arrested'. I'm sure the restaurant will sorely miss his business (NOT!). And I, for one, agree that the restaurant and its employees should receive a thank-you note for doing us all a favor and getting this moron off the road - at least for a little while.

McDonalds may have been the one to call the cops, but the arrest wouldn't have happened if he hadn't been breaking the law in the first place. Moral of story, don't break the law and it won't matter if someone calls the cops.

I have to wonder if that is a "mandatory boycott". He may be telling people he is boycotting so he doesn't have to admit to being banned.

Exactly. McDonald's weren't the ones that made him drunk, after all.

I just told this story to Hubs, and this is what he thought.

Hubs: "No, you see, he's mad at the wrong people. He should boycott the company who made the alcohol, because if he didn't drink their alcohol he wouldn't have craved McDonald's and he wouldn't have been in the drive-thru and so they wouldn't have called the cops and he wouldn't have been arrested."

                    I can hear it now:

Judge: How does the defendant plead?
                    Drunk: Not Guilty
Judge: And what is your reason?
Drunk: If the cashier at McD's hadn't called the cops, they wouldn't have known that I was drunk and on a suspended license. It's all that cashier's fault, SHE should be on trial here, not me!
Judge: "There's no need for the jury to retire."
I will not be pushed, stamped, filed, indexed, briefed, debriefed, or numbered. My life is my own. --#6

Of course the restaurant is at fault. Don't you get it? It's not his fault for breaking the law, it's their fault for reporting him!

Except perhaps so they can stop laughing at the drunk...

although hopefully the corporation doesn't punish the employee. although we've seen stuff like that here
