I overheard this today at work. One of our sales people received an email from a customer, basically stating ‘we’d already lost a sale because (the customer) couldn’t log in to his account’ In the very same email, the customer claimed that they’d entered THE WRONG PASSWORD a couple of times and got locked out as a result, and ‘if we wanted any more of their business, we’d better reset his password IMMEDIATELY.’
In essence, “I entered the wrong password therefore it’s YOUR fault I can’t place an order!”
I suggested that they reset his password to something appropriate….

See, people? THIS is why I’d never make it as a salesman. I’d tell the customer the TRUTH about what a moron he/she is.
