Most of the cases they seem to get are people who have DUI's or other records that they didn't properly declare, so they get turned around and sometimes can get a year or two ban from Canada.

We seem to get a few of those down here....despite the view that the government's policy is "If you don't speak English, welcome aboard", in actual fact, a lot of people get turned away and visa checks are conducted constantly....>:P

I haven't clicked the link to see, but possibly because the gun in question is outlawed in the States and can't be purchased here? The gun is bought and sent to Canada, then disassembled and smuggled across the border to the eventual recipient?

Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

My guess is the person who's receiving the gun cannot legally purchase one for instince the person has a felony conviction, has an order of protection out against them or has been certified nuts.
