I must be a magnet for crappy service. My parents and I went to their favorite diner that we always go to when they visit me. Well, I guarantee we will never go again.
Got seated by the waitress (lets call her SW: sucky waitress) everything seemed normal since she asked what we wanted to drink etc
The people sitting behind me were annoying. Their kid was bouncing and screaming on the chair (making me feel sick, I have BAD motion sickness) the kids were running around the whole place, the family spread out a bit and just sat in random chairs/tables.
Then we see SW it turned out it was HER family. How did I know? She was sitting down with them, taking pictures, hugging etc That's all fine and dandy but then she ignored us.
Finally took our order. I watch her for a bit and notice our food sitting up in the window where the cooks are. 20mins later
SW comes to the table: Would you like your bill?

Me: Uh, we never got our food...
Sw: Oh. Right.
Walks away not to be seen for awhile til...
I spot our food, I watch it for a bit, SW was with the family again. After a bit I see her in front where the food has been set out by the cooks. Cue SW MAKING out in front of the food with another waiter!!!
Nobody seemed to care. Where was the manager?? No where to be seen.
After she is done kissing, she grabs our food. Now, she was carrying my soup. My mom had gotten up to get something and as she was sliding back into the seat (she was getting into the inside part--my dad on the out) Now my dad is completely blind on his left and did NOT see the waitress but she saw him.
Didn't occur to her to stop at all. She nearly crashed into him and almost spilled the food. Now, I understand it must have looked like he didn't care or something but he calmly apologized and explained he was blind on that side. A truck would whiz passed him and he would never know.
She got super bitchy and threw our food onto the table. COLD as hell of course. And mashed potatoes taste like shit when they're cold. My parents are super passive and wouldn't let me shove my foot up her ass. I sucked it up and we got our bill.
We decided not to leave a big tip. Two bucks which I think was generous considering...
I went to the bathroom and when I came back my dad said when he paid, the cashier made a snide comment about his $2 tip! Then dad finally said: Well, it would have been better if we didn't get such cruddy service!!
The cashier did that rude sarcastic I am so sorry sir and we were out.
We won't be going back. I am still seething. You NEVER comment on the tip! The whole thing just kind of ruined the day since it was the only few hours I got to visit with them. *sigh*
