  • In addition to Waiter's list

Well, most of us are familiar with Waiter (waiterrant.net). His latest post is '50 signs you might be an asshole customer' http://waiterrant.net/wordpress2/?p=432

I say we add to it, and expand on the list as only we at CS can. I'll begin.

#50 is "never say please or thank you. Gah....this is one that REALLY gets me. My ex-boyfriend and his ENTIRE FAMILY never ever said please or thank you when they went out to eat. NEVER. I never said anything because I didn't want to tick them off (I realize my mistake now...he has no respect or even common courtesy for anyone), but it bugged me every time. I was always sure to say it a few extra times....to kinda make up for it. I litter EVERYTHING with pleases and thank-yous though. I even get looks for it sometimes, but....whatever. It works.

    Any more?

This is why dinner out is a great first date! You can get a feel for how much a shmuck or a saint the guy (or gal) is by how they treat the waiter!

#51. After you've been seated (after first complaining that the restaurant won't seat you in an empty, unmanned section), you whip out your cell phone and order a pizza from Domino's because you don't feel like waiting for somebody to come take your order.

i.e. do as this asshelmet did:

#52 - After ordering your food and it arrives, fling any tomatoes from your order onto the table in disgust, because once again, you forgot to ask that the cooks not include them in your meal. Note - also do the same to the slice of lemon in your water.

I dump mine in my mom's beer cuz she likes it.
Me if I forget to ask to remove something, I just don't eat it. flinging it on the table is childish, immature and rude.

This was someone I used to work with, and it really surprised me with his attitude, because he's worked in a restaurant. You'd think he would know how childish it was, since it would be his fault to remember not to have certain things taken off.

#53 You go to a hibachi grill and request that there be no fire or noise, or show. You insist upon this though the 7 other people at your table argue with you about the show being part of the experience. When the manager gives them a discount for losing that part of the dining experience, you whine about not gettting one too.

I hope you're referring to the lemon and not the tomatoes
