Setting: CVS at the prescription counter. Young man is next in line, late-twenties/early-thirties.
Pharmacist: I'm ready for the next customer.
Man: Hi, there. I'm picking up a prescription for my son, John Smith.
Pharmacist: Alright... here they are. Can I have John's date of birth, please?
Man: ...uuuh... hmm... March 8th?
Pharmacist: No, that's not what it says here.
Man: Shoot... must be March 7th, then.
Pharmacist: Sorry, that's wrong too.
Man: March 9th?
Pharmacist: Nope.
Man: Can you excuse me for a second? *take cellphone* ...hi, honey, it's me... yes, I'm at the pharmacy. Listen, what's John's birthday? ...oh really? Are you sure? Okay... thanks, sweetheart. I'll be back home soon... *hangs up*. It's March 18th.
Pharmacist: It's okay, you're not the first person who's done this.
At least he knew the month. It's a good thing he got the date, though. It'd be a shame if, next month, he forgot his own son's birthday!

I sometimes confuse my brother's and my son's birthdates cause one is the 26th and the other is the 29th so I sometimes put the wrong day with the wrong person.
i do forget my nephew's birthdates though. I know what months they're born and the date-range but I always mix it up.
