  • A sighting about..myself.

Yes, I was a sucky customer today at Petco.

    *hangs head in shame*

I took my dog in there to get his dewclaws trimmed, glands done, and ears cleaned (he's prone to ear infections).

I had to tell them 3 times what I wanted, the girl gave me the sheet to sign that wasn't even my dog, and then they wanted his rabies proof.

I've never been asked for rabies proof for these services. His rabies shot expired in 2012, he got a booster, and I KNOW they called the vet ages ago and verified it.

The girl huffed at me the vet wouldn't answer. I said sure they will, they're open till 12. She asked if I had the paperwork at home. That's when I lost it.

"I'M NOT DRIVING ALL THE WAY HOME AND COMING BACK HERE. YOU CALLED THE VET AGES AGO! YOU DIDN'T PUT IT IN THE COMPUTER???"

Yes, I stormed out saying "OMG THIS IS RIDICULOUS!"

Went across the street to Petsmart. They called the vet, done in 10 minutes.

Was I sucky? I think she should have at least tried to call the vet. I know they are open 8-12 on Saturday and I told her they would be.

Hmm, I don't think so. It sounds like you were danced around a fair bit before you lost it ... they lost track of what you wanted done more than once, you were given the wrong sheet to sign and then she couldn't even bother to try to call your vet? If she was a newbie I'd say maybe cut her some slack because she might have gotten flustered, but if she's a knowledgeable employee, than she just sounds like an employee in desperate need of a pink slip.

What? No "I'm never shopping here again!"

Seriously, I think way too many of us (and I know I'm one) on this site tend to be extra-sensitive to our own suck, but Pix is right, you did get danced around. Understanding and compassion in the face of newness, or busyness, or bad corporate policy is one thing, losing patience when faced with obstinacy is another. As for what I quoted you on, I think we all have short fuses on some days, the trick is not letting it be a pattern.
And I think we've all read enough horror stories here to maybe explain (if not necessarily to excuse) Petco girl's attitude; she may have had frustrations since the opening bell, and just couldn't deal with the snafu the way she should have.
Glad you got your pupster taken care of anyway.

It sounded like employees too lazy to do their jobs. You were most certainly not the sucky one.

          I appreciate it. lol

I've definitely had a short fuse lately, I've worked 98.5 hours in the last 2 weeks (I'm a medical coder and we've got pure chaos moving to a new billing system), and there's lots of other stuff going on.

I totally forgot my never shopping here again line! LOL

I had laid out the stuff I was gonna buy on a counter outside grooming, and I still did buy it, but I plunked my poor chihuahua on the floor while putting him down to pay, forgot to get the poor thing a treat at the register, and nearly bonked him in the head putting him in his crate in the car. LOL...poor dog had about a bad a day as I did!

Then I got home and....locked my car and house keys, groceries, and dog in the car!!!! Neighbor let me use her phone and my mom lives 10 mins away, so she came to the rescue.
