  • Parking deck idiots

So I work in a downtown area where parking can be particularly hard to come by. With the tourists and all the 9 to 5 workers, if you aren't in a deck by 8:30 am you are pretty much SOL unless you have a card (all the decks sell monthly cards to people that guarantee a parking space).

You would not believe the number of people that completely ignore the huge red "FULL" signs and pull in anyway, expecting to push the button and get right in. And then they get mad when they can't! I've seen people scream and yell and threaten to kill attendants if they weren't let in. Then they have to back out, usually almost hitting other cars in the process, and they speed away.

Well, I pissed one car of them off GOOD this morning. It looked to be a bunch of sorority girls (no offense to any that we have, but you know the time -- princesses. Everything just has to be their way). They were screaming and yelling at the attendant of my deck as I pulled up and waited patiently. I had to wait for ten minutes while they debated whether or not the attendant would let them in before they gave up and backed out, after causing traffic problems.

So one of them gets out and storms back to my car. I roll down the window, cause I haven't done or said anything that would make her mad at me, at least not that I know of.

    ME: tah-dah!
    SG: Sorority Girl

    SG: They're full.
    ME: I know. Thank you.
    SG: They're full.
ME: Yes, I know. Thank you.
    SG: But they're full.
ME: I see that. Thank you. Your car is backing up traffic, y'all might want to move it.
SG: Don't you understand? They're full. If we can't get in, you sure as h*ll can't.
    ME: I have a card.
SG: You still won't be able to get in.
ME: I would never pull into anywhere that says "full" and expect them to let me in unless I had a card. I'm not stupid. I'll be fine, but thanks for worrying. Now can y'all please move your car so I can get into my deck and go back to work?

If looks could kill I would have died right there. I've ALWAYS wanted to say something like that to those idiots! They piss me off to no end.

Just for about a half hour actually. Until one of my coworkers pissed me off again. They stress me out to the point of tears.

SO glad I'm getting the hell out of here!

Ahh, a classic case of not minding your own damn business.

You're lucky, RW, I have to deal with those types more often than you, most likely
