Please...don't ever....EVER run out into the street to cross with your kidlets in tow that it puts all three of you in danger. I don't care if you were at a crosswalk, the turning light was green and you coulda been hit. Pedestrians my have the right of way but that was stupid.
Also a question for Virginia drivers. Is there a law that you have to stop for crossing ducks? MiL stopped for some on the way home but she held up a line of cars in the process. She said there's a Texas law where you will get fined if you run over ducks crossing the street and she is from texas. I just wanna know in case that it happens again.

I've encountered geese nesting near loading docks and truck parking areas, and they'd pay no attention to a semi a foot away from them (one was nesting on a concrete-filled corrugated pipe bollard surrounding a telephone pole). Get out of the truck to check your spacing, however, and all hell breaks loose.
