  • Wannabe pancakes give me the evil eye

At the shopping center nearby, the parking lot is horrible. The spaces are so small and crowded together that I can barely fit my little car in them. Despite this, people manage to fit their huge trucks, van and SUVs somehow, how, I have no clue. A crowbar? :\
Well, anyway, I was leaving and backing up slowly from my space. I couldn't see if anyone was coming, a huge SUV had parked to my left, and a bigger truck was on my right. They were blocking my view. Mind you, this was on a busy weekend, so I knew idiots were walking all over the parking lot and I wasn't interested in squishing them, as tempting as it was. :\ So, I was moving very, very slowly, and looking all around so I could see as much as I could, which wasn't much, and this idiot steps in my way. I stomp the brake.
He sees me and waits. Again I go really really slowly, because I know that people like to drive really fast in this parking lot, and I don't want to hit anyone. It takes me like ten minutes to get out finally. The idiot I nearly squished gives me a 'are you serious" look and shakes his head as I drive off. Hello, I'm trying not to hit anyone, exccuuuuuse me for that. Needless to say, I have not been in that lot since and probably never will again. Unless I can get there early and reverse park.

What's the deal with these wannabe pancakes anyway. Once I was driving late night, and one of them was STANDING in the middle of my lane staring dumbly into space. I saw him at the last minute and stomped my brake. I was going the speed limit, which was 40 mph, and couldn't swerve around because the other lane was occupied. Only after I honked my horn did he look up at me and give me the evil eye. He wasn't even crossing, just standing in the middle or the road like an idiot! WTF
    Can't reason with the unreasonable.

    Re: The wanna be pancakes...

First, that sounds like a band name.

Second, I saw some just the other day. I was taking my wife out to a Mother's Day lunch, and we saw some idiot kids (late teens-early 20's) BREAK DANCING in the street! Moron #1 was dancing (if you call it that), and Moron #2 was "filming" it, or taking pictures. I was driving and my wife leans over and honks my horn at them. I gave them a "duh" look as I drove past...

    Quite amusing, it was.

Can I just say "Thank you" for actually looking before you start backing out? As much as people don't around here lately, I feel like I missed a memo.
