I was driving down a fairly busy 35pmh road when I saw up ahead a pedestrian who was in a crosswalk but had not cleared the roadway. He wasn't moving, he was standing and staring at his phone and was still about three feet out in the road.

I went around him. In my rearview, I saw he didn't even look up, just took another step toward the sidewalk (and still not making it) while playing with his phone.

Oh, Fnar! I had one of these the other day on the way to lunch. Nitwit on the phone wondering back and forth so much that I took special notice of him still on the sidewalk. It was a good thing, since he stepped right in front of my car close enough I barely got stopped. Less than a foot from breaking his legs, and all I get is a dumb look.

I'll one up that from a couple weeks ago. Stupid teenager with skateboard, noodling down the middle of the street and staring at his phone. Bonus points: also wearing headphones! Darwin, where are you when we need you...

Unfortunately the IOC would then ban air horns as a performance enhancing device. After all, they're typically found on heavy trucks that can be up to 13'6" tall, so a "jump higher than that due to the shock" would be a great way of cheating in the high jump.
