  • When You Don't Learn Your Lesson The First Time...

Had a good one this past weekend...

Driver hit a guardrail and was arrested for DUI. We just got the police report and it turns out Mr. Brilliant was driving on a suspended license from his _last_ DUI!

He's been in jail as bail was denied. I'm going to find out when the trial is and hear what happens. Knowing our judges he's going to be in more than a little trouble...

Oh, definitely. He might cut you a break first time, if you didn't hurt anyone and he's in a charitable mood.

Second time? He will throw the book at you.

Serves him right. He deserves all he gets. Innocent people get killed because the law comes down gently on people like this. They just seem to get away with it more often than not and it takes a death or serious injury to get them punished. Glad to see it isn't the case here.

I have no sympathy and want no excuses from people who DUI.

My Ex boyfriend got hit by a drunk driver while riding his bicycle legally. This was the drunks 3rd DUI, but since he kept pushing back court dates, THIS one was the FIRST one that was going to court (now that he'd injured someone), so it didn't count as his 3rd offense, but only his 1st. And until they finally get to court and he actually gets charged, he's still out there driving around.
