  • Trolly woes

In the great city of philadelphia we have many modes of transportation. we have subways, busses, taxis and trollys. I love the trolly. the drivers are super nice, there is a stop right by my house, and they can ride right into center city. plus it's cool they are above ground for half the trip and then in the subway the rest. but it has it's days...

    Forth of July

My girlfriends parents surprised us the forth of july weekend. this was not something I really wanted because the last place I wanted to go was in center city... on the forth of july... in philadelphia of all places. there was a Sheryl Crowe (sp) concert on the parkway infront of the museum, so we decided to take the trolly in because parking would be impossible. it was very packed getting into the city, but nothing we couldn't handle... it was the trip back that was terrible.

I expected everyone to hop on the trolly on 22nd, which was the closest trolly stop by the concert. so I wisely had us to to the 19th street stop to get on before the crowds... this didn't help. we did manage to get on, but it was so tightly packed, that people were ontop of eachother. so there was no way more people were getting on once we reached the 22nd street stop... this is where the suck began...

Because it was a big busy day they had 3 security gaurds at every station. one guard ordered the trolly to stop by standing in it's way, when it was obviously too full... BIG MISTAKE A$$! because if the trolly stops, the doors open automatically if someone is standing on the stairs, and it was so packed many people were... a normal "sober" person would see the trolly full and wouldn't even try to get on... but these people obviously weren't normal. for 15 minutes we sat there, pushing people off as they tried to get on something they couldn't fit. finally, after many threats and someone managing to (literally) kick a guy off the steps so they could close, we went on our way.... one couple to managed to get on at the 22nd street stop... got off at the next stop.... 30th street... you lazy jerks!

    Jackson's death

I ride the trolly only when it rains, this day happened to be the day after jackson died... so EVERYONE had something to say about it on the trolly. I overheard one lady I wanted to slap.

"Naw he was a genius.... yea I know he was crazy, but sometimes the greatest geniuses are crazy, like einstine."

I reeled in my skull... WHAT!? did you just compare a guy who made pop music to a guy who revolutionized our science and way of life?.. she went on forthe whole ride, going from genius to genius... about how crazy they were, therefore MJ was just as much a genius. he made great music, sure... a music genius? maybe... but compare him to other musical geniuses... not poor Albert.
Working...
