So, roommate Secundus, Roommate Tertius, and I drive to Roommate Primus' work the other night to pick her up from her shift, and, as we circle the lot, I notice a police car, just hanging out in the lot. I go, "Okay... that's interesting..." and go park, to wait for Primus to exit... as I watch the door, I notice the police officer go to a car in a handicap parking spot, and he writes a ticket and places it under the wiper. "Hooray!" says I, as, technically, I could probably still get a handicap placard if I were so inclined... Secundus and I watch as a lady gets in the van, ignores the ticket, and drives off. "Oooh, this is getting good," we said... sadly, nothing else happened that I could tell.

She might not have seen the ticket, it's hard to see them under the wiper blade.
I got a parking ticket a couple of weeks ago (my first ticket ever... sad!) and the only way I saw it was because I was sitting in my car talking on the phone before I left the parking spot and noticed in the rear view mirror that the guy behind me had a ticket. Since he parked like an asshole first and I fit myself in to compensate (which stopped the park like an asshole syndrome from going forward because I didn't impact anyone else's ability to park, but still put me slightly outside of the lines) , I looked, and I got one too. Totally bogus since it was his fault, but whatever.

Now, some people totally ignore the tickets and drive-off with them still under the wiper on purpose hoping they blow away. Then when they get the citation for not paying the ticket, they argue they NEVER got a ticket! Happens sometimes where I work. But I have the stub with all their info showing I did indeed write them a ticket, and it includes the day's weather so I know if it could have blown away (not likely!). I watched one person drive away, flicking their wipers (dry sunny day) to get rid of the thing. I picked it up, sent it to the police with the stub, and explained what I watched the person do. Even bigger fine for that!
I usually stay in the area after ticket writing to give people a chance to show me handicap cards on the chance they just forgot to hang them up. Saves them a trip to the police station."If anyone wants this old box containing the broken bits of my former faith in humanity, I'll take your best offer now. You may be able to salvage a few of em' for parts..... " - Quote by Argabarga

Lil Filly's thought was the same one going through my and Secundus' head...
Story update... kind of... yesterday morning, I'm walking to the housing office to turn in my part of the rent check, and I pass by my car, in a handicap spot. Primus drove my car the night before... so, I'm going "WTF, mate?", turn in my rent check, and get back to the apartment to grab my car keys, and go back out to move the car.
As I'm getting ready to drive Primus to work yesterday, she looks at me and says, "Oh, yeah, I had to steal a handicap spot last night."
"I noticed."
"Oh."
"Why?"
"There were no other open spots that wouldn't have required me wrecking your car."
"Uh huh..."
So, of course, once Secundus gets home, I tell her, and immediately, I say, "There is NO reason to be parking in a handicap spot unless you're handicap. Oh noes, I have to walk a few extra feet!" It's not a big apartment complex."I call murder on that!"

This is something you should yell to primus, he could get you ticketed or towed since it's your car for one thing and for another you're right, there isn't a reason to do so if you're not handicapped.Quoth Juwl View PostSo, of course, once Secundus gets home, I tell her, and immediately, I say, "There is NO reason to be parking in a handicap spot unless you're handicap. Yeah, pretty sure I wasn't exactly my peppy self when she mentioned where she'd parked... didn't outright say what I did here... but...Quoth Soulstealer View PostThis is something you should yell to primus, he could get you ticketed or towed since it's your car for one thing and for another you're right, there isn't a reason to do so if you're not handicapped."I call murder on that!"
