  • All *My* Fault!

Of course it really wasn't.....it's just another one of these threads where someone on the road does something stupid and when called on it, they retaliate and act like an ass.

This morning, I was on my way home. This dickface in a Durango was just itching and itching to pass me, so after a mile or so of tailgating me, he did.

    K fine, whatever.

A few stoplights later, I am right behind him at a red light.

    The light turns green.

    And he sits.

    And sits.

    And sits.

Now, about 15 to 20 seconds have gone by, and now I'm getting mad. I honk. I honk again. I honk again. I don't think he even gets it.

I should mention I can't even really see at this point if he's on a phone or trying to read something or what the hell he was doing that made him oblivious to the fact that the light was green.

So I checked the other lane, wound around him and started to go. The car behind me was just starting to get into the other lane to do the same when Dickface realizes "Oh SHIT it's green and I have been getting honked at!"

    So what does he do?

Does he start to accellerate and just go like a normal person?

    Of course not.

He sees that I've gotten into the other lane and started going, and sees the car behind me was starting to do the same.....he rams the gas....and then starts matching my speed so that I cannot get back over to get back into the right lane to take the next right onto the freeway.

I took a risk, although knowing my Neon is no match for a big V8 SUV, I floored it, my poor baby car didn't even want to, but somehow either I DID manage to get past him or he let off for a second, who really knows, but I got in front of him and was able to turn and start onto the freeway.

Wouldn't you know it.....he starts tailgating me again on the on-ramp, and as soon as I start to merge in, he attempts to "one up" me (meaning he tried to get in before the merge lane ended and tried to get in before me so that I'd have to wait for him to go past) fails at that, so he winds it into the left lane and then flies past me, most likely at 80 mph or faster.

Yep...it's my fault you weren't paying attention to the light and the fact that it was green, my fault for daring to honk at you, my fault for getting fed up and trying to go around you........

Can't even just accept that you're an idiot....you just gotta put me in my place, don't you?

In my state that's illegal, as I found out via my hubby's cousin. She was trying to pass someone going to slow on one of the roads out here and they decided to pace her. This was right before corn harvesting time, so of course you have cops hiding in the corn.

She thought at first she was screwed cause she seriously hit 90 trying to get past this jack arse before giving up upon seeing the cop and getting back behind the guy again. Cop comes up and he's got his lights on so she pulls over mentally dreading the ticket.

Cops shoots right past her to the other guy and gets him to pull over. Cousin sits there a minute thinking the cop is gonna come and give her a talking to or something. Instead he waves for her to go on about her business.

It's always such a pleasure when a cop notices some douchebag pulling crap like that and pulls him over.

He may have been sitting at that light on purpose to 'get back' at you for going slow and 'making' him tailgate you. I had a dork do that once, but not for tailgating.

I was in a turn lane to go left. The light was green but there was oncoming traffic. I was in a very old model car at the time, one which does not accelerate as swiftly as others might. There was a small gap in the oncoming traffic that I knew I could not get through the way the car accelerated, so I waited and let it pass by. The guy behind me clearly thought I should have taken the gap because he starts honking at me and getting visually upset (shouting, waving his hands at me).

I ignored him and at a larger gap that I could safely go through, I did so...this ass right on my bumper. He immediately swings into the right lane, passes me as fast as he can accelerate, swearing and gesturing at me as he does so. Then he gets back into my lane in front of me. About a dozen yards further down there was a green light at a spot where a pair of parking lots empty out onto the main drag where we were. The light is always green unless someone is trying to pull out of the lot.

He gets to the green light and STOPS in front of me, clearly watching for my reaction in his rear view. I simply sat there and smiled (I was in no hurry at all and clearly he was). He sat there for about ten seconds and then again visibly gets pissed that I'm NOT getting pissed, and takes off again.

I make my merry way home, thankful that my life isn't so terrible or meaningless that I have to behave like this jackass clearly felt he had to.
