where i apparently pissed off another driver

i was checking out a 4yr college here and had written down the directions, but not how far they were. i'd already gotten off track once...

so then i ended up going down one road - thankfully it turned out to be the right road, driving under the limit by about 5 miles cos i really just didn't know where my next turn was.

apparently this was enough to piss off the old guy behind me.

cos he passed me on the left, in a no passing lane.
didn't even honk to say "go faster" jsut passed on the left.


tho i bet if he'd gotten a ticket he'd have blamed me for it...

I've done that before, only instead of driving 5 under, I was doing the actual speed limit. In a residential area, no less, with a school just a half mile ahead and lots of parks and pedestrian areas. 25mph speed limit from the school onward.

This pickup truck behind me had been hugging my bumper ever since I reached the residential area, and not far past the school I saw the driver of the pickup gesturing wildly while the woman in the passenger seat (his wife, I assume) looked like she was yelling at him. He seemed to take even more offense when I stopped for a red light right outside the fire station instead of running it.

When we finally got to a stretch of road some three miles later where there was no oncoming traffic and the driving lanes were a touch wider, he floored the gas and roared past me in a no passing zone.

A couple weeks later, I had a similar gem one street over, in an even more heavily residential area with parks. Car tailgating me, and then blasting past (some 10-15 miles over the speed limit) once they had the opportunity. Again, it was in a no passing zone.
