  • Make up your damn mind!

Mom and I were driving home from being out and about today... in the right hand lane, sitting at a stop light, and the guy behind the car honked suddenly, his right turn signal blinking. "Well, we can't go, because we're going on ahead..."
Not two hundred feet farther on, we slow down to make the right turn into our subdivision, and get honked at again... because we're slowing down?
Screw you, Texas drivers! At least, those of you who don't understand driving rules.
    "I call murder on that!"

I hate it when I'm making a right turn and people behind me don't really feel like slowing down.

My parents told me that if I suspected a case like that behind me I should start braking earlier (this after I took a turn too quickly). Basically the assumption being that they have just enough brain cells left to remember that it's their at-fault if they rear end me, and if the driver is going to be annoyed by it I shouldn't care. Or, if I do care, then enjoy the fact that they're getting what they deserve for being that inconsiderate/stupid.

I have a very sharp right turn to get into my apartment complex parking area, that comes about 100 feet after a signal on a busy intersection, so I have people trying to run me down when I'm turning in all the time.

I don't care if they want to go fast, I'm not taking that turn any faster no matter how much they try to intimidate me.

The worst part is that the road widens at that point, and there's normally a car parked right before the entry, so if there are any pedestrians (which there often are), I can't see them at all until I've already started my turn.

And then there are the dipshits who have to take up the entire driveway to exit the complex...

I feel the same way, especially since it seems to happen just as I'm turning in to the parking lot at work.

Happens to me when I slow down to turn into our apartment parking lot. No honks yet, but several people veer around me to blast the last quarter block to the intersection (where they have to stop anyway).

It happens both ways to me.

If I come from the one street, I turn left onto my street, the other, right.

It doesn't matter either way, because if there's anyone behind me at any given time in any given weather, that person will swerve to go around me, although when I'm turning right they tend to think twice ONLY if it's snowy and icy and there's traffic coming the other way, as that road isn't very wide.
