  • I feared for the other car

On my way to work today, I start out behind this little goldish sedan. Driver is going the speed limit, and eventually changes lanes to the far left. Almost immediately, this big, ugly Robin's Egg blue truck starts SERIOUSLY tailgating Goldie. Then when she goes to the left turn lane, Robin speeds passed to cut her off in the left turn lane. I thought there would be an accident, and it'd be considered Goldie's fault, since the truck got rearended.

The left turn light wasn't even green! Impatient bastard. ><

Oooh ooh! Race to the red light!

Racing to it isn't going to turn it green any faster.

    I hate impatient assholes.

Wow, I hope the whole 10 seconds they saved was worth it.

I've found that it doesn't pay to speed within the city limits as invariably you get stopped by a light or two. It definately doesn't pay to cut someone off in the left turn lane.

Not even. They saved maybe the time it'd take to drive one car length.

Not if you hung around and gave a statement as a witness.

This is kind of like what happened to my mom. She was in one lane, car in the next lane pulled out, side-swiped her and shoved her into the back of a truck....and then the bastard left. So it looked for all the world that my mom was at fault, except several witnesses stayed and gave statements to the cops.

I probably would have. Not a lot waiting for me at work, though no doubt the douche would have driven off.
